Beautiful. Thank you, Phil and Maui Sails, for both the long and short versions. I have done this poorly often enough to appreciate all your tips, Think it through, trim first, be generous w/ the glue, let the glue dry, GLUE THE EDGE, use sharp instruments [I have used surgical scissors w/ good results], let the job 'harden' [don't do it the morning of the session...], sand the trimmed edge. Admire your work and appreciate your "new boom", Go Sail!
*Acetone doesn't work* but mineral turps does. It makes it so much easier. I taped paper towels around the boom, then plastic bags, then poured in a bit of turps, left it in the sun for 3 hours and I could push the grip off with a gloved hand in less than 10 minutes. I think it's wise to keep the turps away from the plastic bits. It doesn't bother the carbon/epoxy at all.

Very good but the problem is that the product is not available anymore…
Nice video! What do You use to remove foam residues at the joint?
Good job. I´ve seen some people using hair driers to smooth some wrinkes when they appear..
i guess it is kind of off topic but does anybody know a good place to stream newly released series online?
@Bowie Terrance lately I have been using flixzone. Just google for it =)
What grit sand paper do you use to sand the joint?
