Really nice tynnys! Hey Zuratt: I am going down to Javea very soon (on the 9th of April). I will of course bring fishing gear as I usually do - wherever I travel. Would you by any chance want to give a few tips and suggestions as what I should bring if I aim to catch some nice fighters in the Cabo la Nao area. I really would appreciate it :) (please Google Translate this if needed)
Hi Rejje! I think I can answer you without google translate. I have bad news for you, I saw tunas the last five years in this zone in March and April, but this year I didn´t see tunas,I don´t know why. All the fishemen are searching tunas but we can´t see they. I hope we can see they soon. I can give you a few tips, you should use lures like magic tuna (16cm-80gr) and you don´t need very strong rods, because in these dates usually tunas are not very big (10-50 kg) If you want I can give you some number phones of charter boats of Javea
Thank you for answering and thanks for speaking English Zuratt! I am really glad for advices as I am leaving in only two days. Sure - I would be glad to get those numbers. However I am just as interested in fishing for bacoretas, dorado and even bonitos, not only bluefins. I prefer fishing from a smaller boat actively casting or jigging for fish. Do these charters operate that way or do they just do trolling? If so I would just as well try to find some local dedicated anglers like yourself to go fishing with and split the petrol. I must point out I am studying at the moment and therefore can't afford to do many expensive charter trips. I havn't done any surface fishing or jigging in the Mediterranean Sea, so these will be new fishing grounds for me. For fishing the open sea I am considering bringing a 7.6 foot spinning rod that's rated up to 120 grams. It is quite powerful and has caught me some yellowfin tunas as well as GT:s before. It's does well with stickbaits and is nice working poppers as well. The reel would be a Shimano 10000-size loaded with some 300 meter of PE 5 (0,36 mm) braid. I guess this will be a proper set!? What do you think Zuratt? Or is it over- or underkill? I also want to try fishing from the beaches casting poppers, minnows and small jigs for any game fish. In particular I would want to catch a leerfish (palometones) and seabass. Do you think I have some chance of catching any of these from the beaches around the coastline from Gandia down to Benidorm during this season? For casting off the beach I have an 11 foot rod rated 12-60 grams and a Daiwa 3000-reel with 250 meter of 9 kg braid. I guess this would be a proper set for that type of fishing in the Mediterranean Sea? I have plenty of lures I think will work for both the beach fishing as well as offshore fishing. I don't have any Magic Tunas but I do have some stickbaits that casts well and weigh 60-100 grams and have worked fine for yellowfin tuna before. I will bring a few of those and hope they will work.
Ok first of all Iwould say you I am learning Enghish but my English is not very good, not yet but I think i can understand you.My spinning rod is 7´10" foot 50-300 grams action and the reel is Hart 8000 size loaded whith 325 meter of 0,35 braid. This set is to fishing bluefin tunas and I have another set lighter to fish bacoretas. I think your set will be proper to fish yellowfin tunas, bluefin tunas, probably the set will be quite hevy for bacoreta but don´t worry about it,because some times there are bluefin tuna and bacoretas in the same zone. I never went to fish from the beach and Ican´t help you ,sorry! Do you have whatsapp? can I have yor phone number? If you want give me your number phone and after that I send you the number phone of my friend Dani,he has some charter boats and he speaks English better than me and you can tell him axactly what you want When I have yor phone number I will remove the message and the people can´t see it
Como disfrutáis!!! Me flipo yo con las bailas en un espigon😜😜
