Even just hearing Charlie Day voicing Luigi’s panicked grunts at the end makes me certain that he was the perfect choice for Luigi lol. It just sounds perfect. He’s going to channel his manic energy into Luigi’s cowardly energy and I’m all for it.
We named our two dogs after the Mario Bros because we're such huge fans. Our Eldest one is Mario and our youngest one Luigi obviously... I don't care what Chris Pratt sounds like as Mario.. I'm just excited to finally see a decent Mario Bros movie.
I cried TOO! My childhood best friend and the embodiment of fun finally getting translated into my animated film (my passion) is a literal dream come true. Mario has been with me since the beginning of my early childhood and has inpired me to follow my dreams.
This is by FAR the most adorable reaction I’ve seen! As someone who was also hugely impacted by the Mario games as a child, the trailer definitely brought back all of those memories and magic and adventure, and seeing you have similar feelings was so heartwarming!
If I remember correctly, Miyamoto took inspiration from Alice in Wonderland when thinking of how to come up with the Mushroom Kingdom. I'm glad how it seems like they're going for the classic Mario lore -- plumbers from Brooklyn getting whisked away into a fantasy world.

They made Bowser Godzilla-like with his atomic breath which is awesome. This movie looks AMAZING!!!!! The box office sales is going to break the glass ceiling from the jump. I don’t understand why people attack him. If they don’t like his voice they should criticize illumination/ Nintendo who casted him and his voice and who told him how the character should be voiced. The answer as to why people are attacking Chris Pratt is obvious; they knew he wasn’t going to emulate Charles Martinet’s style as Mario, so they didn’t even bother giving him a chance. This is an odd thing to harp on. Jack Black doesn’t sound like Bowser does in the games currently, and nobody disliked it. Keagan doesn’t sound like Toad does in the games currently, and nobody complained. It’s only Mario! I think it’s also because people just want to hate on this movie, so they latched onto the most offensive thing in their eyes (or ears in this case). When the poster dropped, people were honestly criticizing Mario’s rear! As if that would drop the movie’s quality! It won’t, and neither will Chris Pratt! He’s gonna do just fine. These haters need help. Charles Martinet isn’t going to live forever. If the response to the trailer is anything to go by, when Mario gets eventually gets recast, Nintendo headquarters all over the world are going to get raided like the U.S Capital, and I’m not even saying this as a joke. The only real problem I have with Chris Pratt's voice for Mario is that for the past few months, we kept hyping the voice up, saying it was unlike anything we had ever heard or something that will blow our minds. If he didn't spend so much time building up suspense, I wouldn't really have an issue with him voicing Mario, but the fact all that hype amounted to just... his ordinary voice with a slightly higher pitch feels like such a letdown. I still don't care that he's voicing Mario and will gladly watch the movie, but I was just expecting more after all his posts.

I grew up with the Super Mario Bros. Super Show cartoon, and the idea that Mario and Luigi are from Brooklyn. The Yoshi's Island game for the SNES was the first time for me that showed Mario could actually be native to the Mushroom Kingdom. I think, nowadays Nintendo intentionally keeps their place of origin vague, so everyone can come up with their own ideas.

When I first heard the people who created Teen Titans Go were directing this movie I was absolutely flabbergasted after watching the trailer.. like how the heck did they manage this?
I'm hoping we're exploring the Seven Stars and Star Road. They weren't just in Mario RPG, they were referenced in a few other games. The only other one I can think of, though was Yoshi's Island DS.

I’m surprised almost NO ONE knows of the travel to mushroom kingdom form Brooklyn origin for the Mario bros. It’s crazy that a new generation will be able to witness it in the big screen!!!

I don’t understand why people attack him. If they don’t like his voice they should criticize illumination/ Nintendo who casted him and his voice and who told him how the character should be voiced. I don’t have an issue with his voice at all but I have seen so many crazy and angry comments on Twitter attacking him.

The answer as to why people are attacking Chris Pratt is obvious; they knew he wasn’t going to emulate Charles Martinet’s style as Mario, so they didn’t even bother giving him a chance. This is an odd thing to harp on. Jack Black doesn’t sound like Bowser does in the games currently, and nobody disliked it. Keagan doesn’t sound like Toad does in the games currently, and nobody complained. It’s only Mario!
I think it’s also because people just want to hate on this movie, so they latched onto the most offensive thing in their eyes (or ears in this case). When the poster dropped, people were honestly criticizing Mario’s rear! As if that would drop the movie’s quality! It won’t, and neither will Chris Pratt! He’s gonna do just fine.
These haters need help. Charles Martinet isn’t going to live forever. If the response to the trailer is anything to go by, when Mario gets eventually gets recast, Nintendo headquarters all over the world are going to get raided like the U.S Capital, and I’m not even saying this as a joke. People do stupid things when they get angry for stupid reasons.

The only real problem I have with Chris Pratt's voice for Mario is that for the past few months, we kept hyping the voice up, saying it was unlike anything we had ever heard or something that will blow our minds. If he didn't spend so much time building up suspense, I wouldn't really have an issue with him voicing Mario, but the fact all that hype amounted to just... his ordinary voice with a slightly higher pitch feels like such a letdown.
I still don't care that he's voicing Mario and will gladly watch the movie, but I was just expecting more after all his posts.

I grew up with the Super Mario Bros. Super Show cartoon, and the idea that Mario and Luigi are from Brooklyn. The Yoshi's Island game for the SNES was the first time for me that showed Mario could actually be native to the Mushroom Kingdom. I think, nowadays Nintendo intentionally keeps their place of origin vague, so everyone can come up with their own ideas.

I'm hoping we're exploring the Seven Stars and Star Road. They weren't just in Mario RPG, they were referenced in a few other games. The only other one I can think of, though was Yoshi's Island DS.

It seems that the Bowser & penguin kingdom invasion is literally thr movie intro, after we see Bowser get the power star and hear the 8 bit mario intro theme, that's where the movie's opening theme begins as well as Mario in his home city..
