In August 2018, The Danish Broadcast Corporation (DR) aired a concert entitled ”Gaming in Symphony” performed by The Danish National Symphony Orchestra /DR SymfoniOrkestret with The Danish National Concert Choir and various soloists conducted by Eimear Noone.
The concert was hosted by the legendary TV presenter Jakob Stegelmann. The music performed was titles from a wide range of video games such as World of Warcraft, Assassin’s Creed, Call of Duty, Hitman, Final Fantasy and many more. Visual designs by Vertigo and Mikael Sylvest.

I went to one of the concerts - the last one held about "Gaming in Symphony", if I remember correctly.
You and the orchestra did an absolutely stellar job. I especially loved the little talk you and Jacob Stegelmann had about your work.

I think that not only is this track one of the most beautiful tracks made for gaming in general. The performance in August might also be the best performance of Malach i've been able to scrounge up anywhere on the internet. I feel priviledged to have been present when it was recorded.

Malach is one of the single most incredible works I've heard in any soundtrack. I was listening to the game version on TH-cam and this video came up. This performance brings it to a whole different level! Thank you!

Never heard this before, but then I am 75 years old, so I am not into gaming. But, I love this orchestra, so I listened. And was rewarded with a powerful, epic piece that I am enamored of. Thank you all AGAIN! Wonderfully done!
If you like this kind of music I'd recommend you listen to the soundtracks of the different expansions in the game World of Warcraft. Their art and music very very rarely fails to impress people.
Another thing I would recommend is this same orchestra doing their rendition of the Halo theme. My absolute favourite so far.
The OST of Warcraft really is beautiful to listen to, in the game it is there in the background and sometimes you just stop playing to listen, there are many play lists on TH-cam, the opening theme for Wrath of the lich king was over 11 minutes and sometimes I'd just listen to the entire thing before logging into the game.
John, you really need to lister "Wolf at the Gates". It's an incredible Epic Song. Alyzrasor theme too.
These two are incredible strong.
There's alot of extremely well done video game music these days played by full orchestras. Danish Radio Orchestra, Swedish Radio Orchestra, etc.
WOD was full of problems, but as per usual, *the soundtrack was not one of them.*
Raid related, yes. Questing was fun, zones were beautiful, soundtrack was fantastic. As I was playing slowly and took my time while leveling, I've really enjoyed WoD.
You can say what you want about Blizzard, but they've always been absolutely amazing when it comes to art and music in their games.

WoW never had a bad soundtrack throughout all of it's history, imo.
I'd say the story line was funky and the behavior of everyone seems quite illogical.

These songs triggered a strong emotional response in me, making me tearing up. It was a mixture of fond memories when I as a teen explored this amazing expansion for the first time, and the longing for what it could have been and wasted potential
Amazing. Another amazing performance of this piece was directed by Eimear Noone in Dublin at the Video Games Classic concert. At that concert I've seen people in their 70s that had no connection to the game music scene just enjoying it, and leaving the hall in awe. I just wish there was another take of that concert in Dublin or that DNSO would also perform here.

Have played and loved wow for many years, and whilst Draenor was one of the weaker expansions, the music was absolutely incredible! This has become my ultimate favourite world of Warcraft song! The Danish orchestra is stunningly good!

One can say a lot of bad things about the expansion this music was composed for. But one thing that is true for it is, that it had some of the best music ever composed for a computer game..

if 'im not wrong, it must be a duduk which is an ancient armanian instrument
@@taskislaninmimari I can confirm it's duduk originally, but I have no idea what the guy shown plays at that moment TBH. Is that modified clarinet? I have no idea. The mouthpiece looks like from clarinet, but I'm not certain about the rest. Considering that on duduk you have to tighten or loosen your mouth on mouthpiece to produce that modulated sound, I'm not sure if you can do the same on clarinet.

Whoever does still not understand, why gaming means so much to young people, should look at the world, we have created around us and compare it to the wonders, WoW gives us to make us feel happy and epic. Start to make this world worth living in and we will live in it instead of gaming to flee it.

I may be in the minority here but I would love to see a live performance of the Wintergrasp music, the approx. 10 minute version with the main theme and oh my God, the calm sequence with chimes/tubular bells. It brings tears to my eyes every time.

That's the dumbest thing i have ever heard.
TESO is warm shit. Wow is basically in retirement now and still has competitive numbers. Also, you cannot judge the looks of a game based on how much it taxes your system. Wow has ALWAYS used real art to convey a message. TESO does like every other MMO that has tried to match wow; push the graphics. While TESO is probably the most successful of the runners-up, it will never match the historic success of wow.
And, by the way, TESO doesn’t look that great, so I really don’t know what you’re on about anyway.

@@mightymouse5930 Unffortunately the times of "real art" are over in WoW now. They are going for a "realistic" style now due to heavy outsourcing in the art department. It really is a shame that they gave up on their unique art style just to try and be like everybody else.
