Discussing the EP, Neil Tennant said: “It contains three satirical songs and one rather sad song. I think it’s because of the times we’re living through.” The four tracks were produced by Tim Powell and Pet Shop Boys and recorded towards the end of last year. They will not be included on Pet Shop Boys’ next album which is being produced by Stuart Price and is due for release in the autumn.

I said 34 because Neil only counts from west End Girls hit the charts which is all wrong.
@@adrianwilliams469 I was 9 when I hear West End Girls in 1983. I've loved them since then. They've been the soundtrack to my life. So many moments and memories tied to so many of their songs, from then to now. I loved their lyrics video to #SocialMedia track :)
@@DJKav I was 15 when they come into my life now just turned 52 they helped me with some many situations I was in, got me over so much sadness and loniness breavement you name it they've helped me over darkest moments they've spoken to me.

The best track on the new E.P. ! Thematically I'm thinking back to the 'Actually' album and the fantastic track "Shopping." Upon hearing the chorus the first time ( "We're S.H.O.P.P.I.N.G. - We're Shopping." ) I thought 'this has GOT to be some sort of a joke' until I realize it's a mocking, very wry commentary on the EXACT thing it's celebrating.

This is not only catchy but classy. It has a nice, fine tune with a message that mocks our technology in a rather smart way. Pet Shop Boys has always been one of my fave bands. But the way how they come out with the retro tunes just bring me back to when they did West End Girls. Man, do the times change. And yet, some styles never do. Amazing song.
