Akutagawa really showed out this episode. He really, really just wants to be acknowledged by Dazai to the point he will put himself through horrid situations if he thinks it'll gain Dazai's approval. Mori is definitely a fantastic strategist, and every character is really getting fleshed out and explored more now that everything from Season 1 has been established. I cannot wait to see even more of these reactions!!
The thing is with abilities in BSD is that the amount of strength you have isn't what makes you powerful --- it's your skills when you handle your ability. While Dazai and Chuuya on the surface level look the strongest they are actually mid level if you think of their weaknesses. Dazai is physically weak so mostly where you have to look is his reaction time. As such if you use Francis, Kenji, Kajii or Kunikida against him they will win as long as they don't physically touch him. Chuuya's main weakness is his petty rivalry with Dazai. Mention that and he will blindly attack without thinking what's going to happen. As such anyone can beat him if they use their cards right. An example is Lucy. Anne of Abyssal Red can trap Chuuya and drag him towards the room. Fun fact with Kajii: in September 1928, his friends sensed his death so his friends including the poet Tatsuji Miyoshi and Ryūzō Yodono decided to publish his first book -- a collection of his short stories titled Lemon

i dont know if anyone in your patreon told you this but after you finished season 2, there is an ova and a movie you should watch before you start season 3. there's a connection between the ova and season 3 and there'll be some explanation in the movie that were mentioned in season 2 also the villain in season 3 will appear in the movie as well
Margaret M. is Margaret Mitchell who wrote Gone with the Wind. which is set during and post-civil war in the southern states after their loss. (it's obviously problematic), but her saying that she wants to bring her family's honor back is a direct reference to Gone with the Wind because Scarlet is doing just that in that book. Nathaniel is Nathaniel Hawthorne who wrote the Scarlet (maybe they put these two together because Gone with the Wind's lead is called Scarlet) Letter - his book follows a woman who is forced to wear a red (scarlet) A which stands for Adulteress, basically exposing her "sins" and making her a pariah in her town.
