Skip Matt's Bar, go to the 5-8 club instead. Way better. And you'll probably see it misspelled on the menu as "jucy lucy" but that's an homage to the original
@@Jayger869 really?!?! You are missing out. Go to your local 5•8(if there is one nearby). Otherwise, just find a dinner that has one. They’re really good.
Minnesotan here. The best juicy lucy I had was at a small resteraunt called "The Nook" and the place also had a bowling alley in the basement,. Sadly, due to developing severe lactose intolerance, this is a delicacy I will never be able to enjoy again. For all those in the Twin Cities areas who can tolerate cheese and haven't tried this, PLEASE DO while you still can.
Ive had like a million Juicy Lucy's before, and yet ive never heard where the name comes from. Ive heard a ton of crazy theories though lol (As a Minnesotan, your prononciation on "Minneapolis" literally killed me💀)
try Zuurvlees from holland (Limburg sour meat) is a traditional dish from the Limburg region of the Netherlands and Belgium. It consists of stewed beef or horse meat marinated in vinegar, onions, and spices, giving it a tangy, sweet-sour flavor. The dish is typically slow-cooked until the meat is tender and is often served with fries, bread, or potatoes.
First of all, Minnesota was founded in 1858, almost a decade before Canada was a country and the area that would become Minneapolis was settled in the 1840s We came first and Canada copied us. Don't forget it.
I haven't been to Grand Rapids in so many years but this is one of the few things I think about often. Sooo delicious! I've tried to replicate it and Arnie's Dutch torte. Wish they'd mail those cakes.
Hey dude, I'm from Helsinki. Can you do Sautéed Reindeer Stew? Or use beef as a substitute. I would love for this to be on that series because I've never seen someone do something from Finland. If not, just make Salmon Soup from Lapland. EDIT: I know this isn't a U.S or even American hometown, but it's from my hometown. I know I may sound selfish but I'm not trying to be. Sorry if this takes forever to read. If you don't, it's ok, I don't really care. Lol. Kiitos! EDIT: I'm sorry about that is reposted this in the comments, I just love this channel so much dude. I love to cook for my friends. And one of my buddies likes to give me challenges with pentameters to follow. And for his birthday he simply asked for the best juicy Lucy I could make. When about this way, but cooked some minced green pepper and onion in bacon grease. Added to the cheese. Sealed it up cooked it with pickles, Dijon mustard ketchup a leaf of lettuce and a toasted bun. All out in the woods over an open flame. He told me it was one of the best burgers he ever had and couldn’t think of a better one. Took that with a lot of pride.
