Oh my! We were nervous watching the horses slip on the ice. So glad you're keeping them inside and safe. Woo! You've got a busy day! I bet you slept good that night! Man you stacked those food bags fast 😆😀
Joel you take such good care of the horses . I hope the owners appreciate all that you do to take care of their horses . You truly have a love for the horses . Please be careful and stay safe out there . Good video Joel
keep up all the great work you do with the horses-now we all know what lefty is doing when the veggie boys go where is lefty!!! --lefty is working hard at taking proper care of his horses!!way to go lefty!! :)
Your wife is cute! It's 65 in my NC town today..up to 68 by Saturday and then a downward turn to colder weather. Glad the horses stayed in, agree a fall could be really bad.
Most of our horse info comes from going to Assatuque Island in MD. Its a Federal Park where visitors are not to touch, feed or get out of their vehicle to stand close for a photo. We have estchef pony's play, open hand pump fresh water and then turn the water off. Many other memories than includes the eco system for finding all kinds of habitat. Joel keep upn tye channel.
Another great video Joel! I sure hope the ice melts, that looked treacherous for everyone! Praying you all stay safe and the horse manage staying indoors. Good Luck!
Another great video camera work on time lapse excellent .My heart was in my mouth for you watching your concern for your boys coming in from pasture . Looking forward to your video . Love from the UK x
Joel, I feel so bad for you. Wish we could help out with the extra chores. Please let us know how the next day goes. How long did you have to keep the horses in the barn? I'd like to know how you guys made out.
As the horses come through, I would really like it if you told us what kind of horse it is, and what you would call the color such as paint, palomino, or chestnut.
Yes. Keep the horses in when weather conditions are bad. I have seen a horse have 3 legs stable & 1 leg silding on ice & she broke her leg. Very upsetting. Even with minimal ice it is not worth taking chances. Horses have a high center of gravity compared to cattle & this can make keeping balanced difficult in some situations. Ice is one. Trailors is another.
I remember watching Alaska: The Last Frontier where they had a similar problem with the ice and cows not wanting to go up a path and they tried everything. The last thing they use was ash on the ice. The cows walked on it without slipping. I. I was amazed!!
Ice can be deceiving when it's on the ground. Happy to see them all in safely. Just a thought, as for the horses that get stressed from being in their stall for a long period of time, is there a way you could put a lead on them and walk them up and down the length of the stable? It might cut down on boredom. I know it would be time-consuming but it might help out the horses who get worked up and stop eating.
Hi Joel ideas for some videos would be if you could introduce us to each horse and talk about each 1 like their personality, breed etc so we can learn all about different breeds of horses and your opinions! 😁👍🏻🇮🇪🇮🇪
That skid steer looked good on the ice . Diving may not be so nice. It looks like the day the veggie boys were out for more lce remover. The horse were scary to watch comeing in, ice is the worse under hooves, so fragile each leg as they cameing glad you eventually got home!!!!!
I see you put the grain buckets all together, do you have them in a certain order so each horse gets his grain. Love the videos, keep them coming. Tell the family hi. 👋
Is there any chance that you could run a harrow down thru the area, from where they come in, down thru the pasture? It'd help break up the ice/snow a bit to help it thaw & might give them a bit of traction depending on how you do it. Glad you kept them safe.
Yeh!! It's Manur' Day! Never seen ice skating horses before. Though they seem to learn where to tread very quickly. So much work for you today. Blankets off, blankets on..... Looks like you will be having a couple of warmer days before the cold kicks off again on Sunday, I suppose it has been so cold for you that the ground is keeping the cold, so even rain turns to ice. Am I right your pasture slopes towards north so the sun does not do a good job at this time of year? I am trying to tie up what I can see on Google Maps with what I see on the videos. How come google street view does not work on your street?
Can you guys build a drag like we used to for kids baseball infields and run it over the pastures and hills to make paths of broken up ice when it gets bad like that? We used to weld huge bolts to I bar and weight it down...
To Joel job well done I agree with you 100% keeping all the horses they're Staples for any the horses slipped out there in the pastures any of your any of your horses could have slipped and broke their leg and that would have been very terrible for the owner of the horse and well as your you and your I don't think any of the owners be very happy I reckon that was a good idea to keep the horses in with all the manure does that get put out in the films ready for spring when it's planting time 🥶😱🙏❄️☃️🐴🐎🐕. FORM Perth WA.
When I worked at a livery yard we always put a LOT of the manure down over the ice. I was really worried watching the horses walking over the ice. Really cake that manure down. You guys have a skid loader which you can use to get rid of the manure after all we had was shovels and wheelbarrows lol
Great video and great job. Question why do you go in the area where they prepared and make food with the same clothes on that you wear in the stables where you touching horse poop? Whatever the case stay great video
Great video Joel! So glad the horses all made it safely to their stalls. Seeing them struggle, I'm sure you made the right decision. And how cute was Callie smiling and waving at the camera right on cue!
Your feed supplier needs to up their game, or is there something that I don't see? You call in the order. You go to pick up the order. It isn't already palletized and wrapped. They don't load it as a pallet. They don't even load it as bags for you. Are they short-handed because of the weather, or is this the treatment you always get?
This was a first for us. However we tried getting them to stretch their legs around twice a day out of their stalls. (Walking them inside the barn and in non icy areas)
Wow you may need to fix a bigger crate enough for all the different feed’s in bags for winter extra supplies for back up that way you won’t have to drive on icy roads. Or see if you could get a used trailer that you could uses. Ifs not safe to let horses walk down to the hill dangerous for them. I would be investing in putting water line in the stable barn in each stable stall it will help in a long run. That was scary seeing the horse skidding in ice to get to the barn . Manure day yahoo more manure. It’s going to be more work fore you guys feeding an watering. That is good checking the horses over that was scary watching them slipping and trying to walk . We you’ll put a bale of hay by the doors so we don’t have to carry bales.Grab your wife before she falls down.
OH MERCY! My BP went up watching the horse try to get up the ice cover slope! SO happy they're all safe and in the stable.
Thank you so much keeping the horses in out of the weather .
Oh my! We were nervous watching the horses slip on the ice. So glad you're keeping them inside and safe. Woo! You've got a busy day! I bet you slept good that night! Man you stacked those food bags fast 😆😀

Archer slipping in ice makes me super nervous. Weather's new blanket is beautiful. Poncho ❤ Lefty is strong carrying all the bags.
keep up all the great work you do with the horses-now we all know what lefty is doing when the veggie boys go where is lefty!!! --lefty is working hard at taking proper care of his horses!!way to go lefty!! :)
That was cute watching Megan slide and you trying to save her. Good call in keeping the horses in.
Great call family, that ice is devastating for horses!
Ya know someone who loves manure when ya see em haulin the buckets gloveless 😂😂😂. The wife must just LOVE when u come home...lol
think you got the first wave of Calli, that was cute! that was a busy busy day eventhough the horses where inside
Yesssss!!!! I can’t wait til she says bye💕🎉
Your wife is cute! It's 65 in my NC town today..up to 68 by Saturday and then a downward turn to colder weather. Glad the horses stayed in, agree a fall could be really bad.
Not to worry Joel, it'll be mud before you know it :)
LOL
O boy I was holding my breath when you showed the horses comming up the field ,glad they got to stay in .Take care everyone .
looks like a lot of work for the horses, glad you take good care of them.
Great job keeping the animals safe
Adorable Callie cameo! :) If I had a horse I would definitely want to board with you. You take such excellent care of them.
Scared me too when the horses came in. Stay safe and thanks for sharing.

It really scared me watching them slip on the ice!🥶
Another great video Joel! I sure hope the ice melts, that looked treacherous for everyone! Praying you all stay safe and the horse manage staying indoors. Good Luck!

Now I know why Skywalker is called Skywalker, he owned that ice path.

Great idea !
@@karinjudge7277 Maybe toss in their ages too
Too bad they couldn’t load your trailer up with a fork lift wherever you picked the few dozen heavy bags of grain. 👍
Good job Lefty.

DONKEY FIST-BUMPS FOR THE WIN ... lol that's awesome!!
Lol! "Let's get scooping!!!" Love the excitement!
Yep, I'd be keeping them in as well. They will get over it, you are doing what's best for them. Smart decision
Tell Andrew he needs to pick it up a Notch with his Work Output since he missed out while he was on Vacation. 😬👍
I was worried about y'all with all the ice. Shouldn't have been. You are awesome caregivers.
wow that's gonna be a lot of work but you are doing an amazing job so keep it up.

Good to see you are using your 4wheeler to move hay. You was smart to have the horses stay in.
Yes yes yes. Keep them in!
Love to see the Stable Life
Hi Joel ideas for some videos would be if you could introduce us to each horse and talk about each 1 like their personality, breed etc so we can learn all about different breeds of horses and your opinions! 😁👍🏻🇮🇪🇮🇪

I see you put the grain buckets all together, do you have them in a certain order so each horse gets his grain. Love the videos, keep them coming. Tell the family hi. 👋
Yes we do
Where’s Gavin when you really need him to Help Load three (3) slivers of Hay for each horse twice a day ? 😬👍
Godspeed Stable life.
Might I suggest a flat bed trailer for the four wheeler for the bales and water buckets

Your wife is so cute!
Great video! You need a flat cart to haul water buckets on
What about a longer hose with a trigger on the end?
🏇🏇🏇🏇🏇🐐🐐
Yup defiantly keep them in! Our driveway was ice today, slipped several times waiting for the bus this am.
Enjoy these video's, such beauties! Keep it up!
Someone needs to invent rubber booties for horses, similar to boots they make for dogs. I get 5%.
good stuff
Hi Callie :)
Good to see you again. Summer and just 17c.
When I worked at a livery yard we always put a LOT of the manure down over the ice. I was really worried watching the horses walking over the ice. Really cake that manure down. You guys have a skid loader which you can use to get rid of the manure after all we had was shovels and wheelbarrows lol
👍👍
You work pretty fast. Lol
You have a lot of work to get done every day .
Great video and great job. Question why do you go in the area where they prepared and make food with the same clothes on that you wear in the stables where you touching horse poop? Whatever the case stay great video
Where is your sidekick Gavin ?
Better safe then sorry
🤟🏻🇨🇦🤙🏻
I think you stole Callies first on screen wave! Andrew will be so mad, haha!
If they came in //// it must mean they went out ?
Great video Joel! So glad the horses all made it safely to their stalls. Seeing them struggle, I'm sure you made the right decision. And how cute was Callie smiling and waving at the camera right on cue!

Are they short-handed because of the weather, or is this the treatment you always get?
You did a lot of work all by your self is that the norm as you also work on the farm
It's a family affair
When the horses are kept in so long, what _do_ you do to keep them from getting bored or pissed off?
Do they like music?
This was a first for us. However we tried getting them to stretch their legs around twice a day out of their stalls. (Walking them inside the barn and in non icy areas)
When are you going to put up a riding barn?
When we have the money for one lol. It's a Dream. Hopefully one day. We'll see :)
Could you rip up the ice on the slope.
So Joel is your dad going to do a polar plunge at 25k just asking.lol
