    The Fire Maple Polaris is REALLY good with the Petrel!

      @@bram-midage Be aware I am talking about the canister top version of the Polaris specifically. I have no experience with the remote canister version, although I suspect it's great also.

    I have been considering the campingmoon xd-2f + soto triflex + petrel. This should give you close to the Windmaster performance but significantly cheaper.

      I don’t think that the 3 Flex will fit on that stove. You’ll have to measure it. My 2 cents.

      I've used the TriFlex top made for the WindMaster on the campingmoon xd-2f without issue. I haven't had any trouble using this combination with the Polaris pot. Strangely the SOTO 4Flex top made for the WindMaster does not fit on the campingmoon xd-2f.

    Without going into efficient use of fuel or boil time - my Soto Micro Regulator stove has served me well for over 10 years. It predates the Windmaster that you showed.

    Hi thank you for sharing, enjoyable and interesting, as always.
    £5.39 for my Widesea burner.
    It did snag on the 3 slots but I pushed a blunt edged of a strip of metal down each slot, each side, ensuring the gap was free of HE fins.
    I now also ensure the TriFlex arms are plum & Radial.
    All working great now.
    But I am on the quest for stubbier gas burners.
    For speed merchants recommend the BRS 61. Fast and quiet, and stubby, but very heavy.
    I do not crank stoves up, particularly my BRS 3000, afraid of burning holes in Aluminium HA pots, Prefer quiet and fuel efficiency, and not rushing.
    PS, just sent off for the Fire Mapple G3 Petrol neoprene sleeve. Might add a webbing loop for an integrated handle. Disconnect the stainless steel one. Why don't they make them of titanium.
    Thanks again, best regards, take care.

      Might you know if the neoprene sleeve will fit the Petrel Ultralight Pot with HE | 600ml?
      Could you share where you found the neoprene sleeve?

    Campingmoon Frex-MicroMax XD-2F would be nice to see tested too if it could fit a 3flex

      It does. I had to bend the 3flex slightly so that the three arms were in the perfect place for the pot's slots - not sure if that's normally the case with the windmaster

      Confirmed, the Widesea 3-flex does fit on the XD-2F. The XD-2F 4-flex does not fit on the Widsea, however.

    Oh for a titanium mini pot with a built in heat exchanger.

    • @mortenborg
      @mortenborg 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Indeed, would be the perfect pot!

    • @bertman4
      @bertman4 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      From my understanding, that's counter productive because aluminum is a far better conductor of heat than titanium.

    • @mortenborg
      @mortenborg 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bertman4 Indeed, alu is better at heat distribution, but titanium has far more strength - also alu can dissolve and leak into the water/food (probably not a huge issue, but I prefer to avoid risks)
