Hi TechneMoria, another great video. I still have Tektronics 2465 and 465. Great scopes for sure! I hope you are doing well! I've been busy with my home, lot's of projects to repair around the house. At my age (70) I need to take it slow. See you on the next video, meanwhile, be well! 🙂

Hi Alfonso, glad to hear you're ok. I'm in exactly the same situation as you are (although I' a little bit "younger") and so, working on the house takes more time :) The Tek is a great scope but the HP is certainly useful as well.
Thanks for dropping by and always welcome ! :)

I have a 54520A and Ive been thinking about putting an LCD display in it. I believe these s opes use composite video signals. A 10.1" in a custom aluminum frame (anodised black) would look nice. Your thoughts?

I haven't investigated the signals coming from the main board towards the CRT controller board. There are two possibilities in my opinion: 1) the controller board receives a composite signal from the main board or 2) the main board sends a purely digital signal which is converted to analogue control voltages for the CRT.
When I look at the schematic of the controller board it would seem it gets (TTL) vertical & horizontal sync signals from the main board... There are two inputs for the video signal (digital TTL level most likely) labeled HHB and HFB.
Like I said though, I haven't inspected the actual "video" signals coming from the main board
There is indeed a good chance you can use some third party LCD replacement screen. Since these CRT modules are rare (not to mention the CRT's themselves) it would make sense to replace them with an LCD screen. If you do, let me see the result... i'd be very interested to see it run :)
Good luck and thanks for your nice comment and considering to subscribe !
