@@TechWandererYT At half the price though that is probably a deciding factor for the vast majority. Hoverair's options are clearly better overall for the purpose of being a selfie drone, but they aren't over twice the price better.

That’s true. Means the hover air can fly anywhere you want (legal or illegal) and Neo is limited to the fly safe database. But i rather have the gps. I mention in my own review how that also makes the Neo like other dji products not truly yours as a software update could stop you from flying it. Still I’d rather have gps.
@@WillEDC Another very important thing about a hiker/biker drone is how fast you can get it in the air. If it takes a minute you are not going to bother and move on. You won't have time for all the calibration and go through all the settings blah blah if you want to cover 100 km on your bike. Unfortunately not a single reviewer ever shows how fast you can launch something like a DJI Mini. It just ain't their thing. Drone reviewers are guys who go to a park and fly the drone around. If you have DJI and a controller, NEO is a slam dunk, if not the price makes it one. Follow speed as a cyclist on Neo is way too slow, so I’ll wait for V2. Great review.
Great comparison. Most of the cameras on the market push for higher resolution but for I can see, this DJI at 4k seems to struggle to deliver a clear shot when you have side motion. I wonder, this drone can record at 2.7k 60? I think it would give more hardware room to the drone do its job.
Thank you for this video. I was an early adaptor of the DJI Spark when it came out. It is still with me today and my only drone to date. Always wanted the Mavic Air and later the DJI mini pro series but never acquired one due to lack of flying time. At one time I seem to gravitate to the Hover X1 because of its simplicity but could not justify the pricetag. Always said to myself if this Hover X1 was at $200 range that would be an automatic purchase and lo and behold DJI comes out with a better drone with exactly that cost $200. DJI take my money. Just bought the neo yesterday unplanned😂. There was a demo in the middle off the mall and got a chance to try it! I could say subject detection is precise as there are a lot of people going around as well, I was surprised! I was aiming for the hoverair pro max but the price jump from the hoverair x1 is three times the price! So ended up getting this one. FPV compatible as well coz I wanna dip my toes in soon! Done a maiden flight this morning and I am satisfied with it. Decent enough imo. Not good as 8k but decent enough
For mtb, skiing or anything where you get a bit more speed the new hover x1 pro will be the one. Every test with the neo on a bike it loses the subject quickly above 20mph
I really am interested in the Hover Max. This was a good comparison video. For some reason people are trying to compare the Neo with the new Hover Pro and Max Drones, WHY?? Those are clearly superior drones compared to this NEO.
Great comparison video Aldryn! I already hit the buy button on the DJI Neo Combo and have no remorse. Since it's compatible with my Goggles v3 and MC3, this was a no brainer.
Only last week I ordered the upcoming Hover X1 Pro on Indigogi because I’ve been using the current Hover X1 since last year to record my gravel cycling and bike packing adventures and while it’s pretty good, it’s just too slow at around 25kph at best. That’s ok for running but not mountain biking or cycling generally. The new X1 Pro will do 42kph and 60kph burst. Somewhere I saw that in regular tracking mode (not with the remote), the Neo only does 21kph. That’s not good enough. It’s cheap and attractive that it can be linked with the GPS of the remote but the Neo fails in its autonomous mode by only doing up to 21kph. That’s very limiting. A real shame.
I have on several occasions almost bought the X1.. but what I found very odd was for a company to sell a drone at that price and not include spare props. I then noticed after follow all the posts online that it was almost impossible to even buy new props for the X1 for the longest time. Eventually they did start selling them. The Neo comes with spare props so I have much more confidence in buying the Neo then the X1.🤔
I have the X1 and love it! but going to buy the NEO for fun factor. Cant wait to see an honest review of the pro max 8k. BTW was the video shot near Del Mar, looks like it 😊.
I noticed that in Follow mode the Hover Air cut the corner a bit, which could be a problem in a confined space, whereas the Neo followed the actual path of the subject more accurately.
Great beginners drone for those who are not quite familiar with drones. Neo has a solid platform to help the younger generation get involved in drone technology.
Waiting to see how the video quality of the Pro max is, I’ve heard mixed things. DJI is priced great, but i wonder if they’ll keep those prices if they succeed in killing off competition. this is the new era of the drone it will replace all action cameras, selfie stick, insta360 and indoor stabilizers. The microphone performance should be improved.
