Thanks for the information . Had the same problem even after replacing fuel pump and fuel regulator on sfv650 . Cleaned rust out of tank with hydrochloride acid , washed out with bicarbonate soda .Lined tank with phosphoric acid(ranex rustbuster) to stop rust flashing . Still had the same bogging down issues. Took the fuel cap apart and cleaned and found a slight improvement .Cleaned out fuel injectors with no improvement. Came across your video so I took out the fuel pump again ( 5th time ) cleaned secondary filter with brake cleaner, soaked in boiling water for ten minutes and put back together to finally have success. Thanks again.
My 1250 bandit refused to rev above 7000rpm ( much lower under load ) . I used carb cleaner to blast out that filter with thumb over pressure relief valve port . Unbelievable suggestions from bike mechanics when I quizzed them . Vids like this helped me fix my Bandit. I too used a quantum pump and it is working well . When that tiny filter becomes blocked a high pitched noise from pump is often heard and is an indication that a good clean out of the pump housing and fuel line is required along of course with a motor not reving like it should .
It will be the the fuel pressure regulator. Replace that and you will be fine. I ordered the Quantum part shown and it was at my door in Australia in 6 days from California. 4 of those days were with Australia Post. Useless cunts.
I think the screws go on first and then the plastic cover for the fuel filter clips over the screw heads. I normally clean the plastic part with the hidden wire mesh filter in a small ultrasonic cleaner. Does a great job but leave it somewhere to dry for a few days to be on the safe side.
My bike was fucked (Bandit1250S). There is rust in the tank which I have a pro 3 stage tank cleaning kit to fix but I've vacuumed out most of the crud. Anyway. I bought a Kemso fuel pump off eBay for about $30. Bike ran well for about 1 hour after install then back to starving. Cut a long story short, it was the fuel pressure regulator. I ordered the part from Quantum Fuel Systems as per this video. Problem solved. The part shipped from USA to Australia in less than a week and was AUD $140 cheaper than the OEM Suzuki part. Last weekend I did a highway run of 350km each way, Brisbane to Miles. Overnight then return. The bike was fucken screaming! I recommend this video. It's an easy job, no need for a bike mechanic unless you're a total numpty. End story. My Bandit is a Bandit again. Thanks seeeergiu. If you ever come to Australia I'll let you fuck my sister or my wife for helping me out. Cheers mate!
Hey, man! I'm glad that you sorted it out. Everything is somewhat easy to fix if there's a step by step tutorial available. I'm currently trying to learn how to check/adjust the valve clearance since the top of my engine is kinda noisy. If i can so it on my own (without a mechanic) i'll do another tutorial. Thanks for your offer, btw, i saved a print screen just in case! :))
I had the same problem replaced the fuel pump and scraped the filter after refitting it still had the problem i ended up replacing the plastic assembly and fitted original fuel pump, problem solved seems the filter is a real problem
Thanks for the information! I couldnt scrape all of the upper filter indeed, only a part of it is accessible through that small hole. But it is made of metal if i`m not mistaken. Therefore...i think it should be cleanable with a powerfull solvent or boiled, etc. in order to avoid splashing few hundred euro for a new one.
Suzuki GSX650F rusty tank cleaned tank and fuel pump unit run good for one season , then OEM pump failed , put new Quantum pump and regulator in and now it runs good at Idle but will not take full throttle , checked with fuel pressure gauge Pump noisy and will not keep pressure up past idle, also checked flow volume and does not meet shop manual requirement of 166ml in 10 seconds ! Ordering a OEM unit now, do not recommend Quantum pump .
@brianbrian5259 yes the plastic housing that holds the pump and fuel regulator was plugged, soaked it in vinegar for a few days and blew it out with air .
All, I don't think so, but this seems to be common enough issue that might appear sooner or later, depending on fuel quality and if/how rusty tank interior is.
De unde as putea cumpara tot kitul . Multumesc sunt din Bucuresti. Zi buna !
The fuel line should come off very easily if the clips are pressed in correctly. Pushing the connector on further then pressing and pulling gently works well for me.

Rpima

@@CAPTLIEPS Great thanks for your reply. I disassembled my fuel unit today and my strainer wasn't even there. It fully disintegrated 🤣.
Salut.
is tis problem found in all 1250 models
All, I don't think so, but this seems to be common enough issue that might appear sooner or later, depending on fuel quality and if/how rusty tank interior is.
On my 2nd Bandit and same issue as the first. Dumb design to encourage more sales of pump assemblies no doubt.

Salut. Numele kitului e in descriere.
I wish my fuel line would come off, let alone that easily.
