I miss the cottage too, such a cool place but the weather in texas sounds kinda unbearable. I think they are much happier in so cal.
I usually watch your videos in the middle of the night when I’m nursing my new baby, they are the perfect relaxing but upbeat content to keep me awake. I’m not getting much done these days 👶🏼 but you give me the best gentle motivation to keep being creative in whatever time I can find for myself!

I love pansies too. I love the picture you bought. When I emigrated from the UK to New Zealand, my Mom and I sent cards with pansies on the front to each other. In Victorian times the pansy was assigned a hidden meaning of ‘Thinking of you’. She is no longer alive and when ever I see pictures of pansies - or the flowers - I always think of her. So precious ❤️

Yes, my Ventura County garden is loaded with the Mediterranean herbs. They love the heat, bugs and other critters don’t bother them, they have pretty little flowers and I love to cook with them.

👋 from Canada 🇨🇦. Snake plants need incredibly well-draining soil, think sand and gravel with a little soil thrown in. They need very little water and are usually best in light shade. I remember seeing you repot them in moisture retaining soil, so I knew they would die. We live and learn ❤
What is the difference in soil?
Hey Carolyn 🙂 Where I'm from we grow them in pots indoors. They won't survive outdoors in our climate unfortunately. Do you grow them outdoors in Canada? @darawilson4101 Snake plants, which are succulents, need well draining soil, like lots of sand and gravel. The water will run right through it and out the bottom of the pot. If they sit in moist soil, they will rot and die.
If you plant them in well draining soil and tight against each other or with other well draining plants , they will bloom for you.
I can’t grow snake plants outside in Texas. The thrive indoors.
Both houses are beautiful!! And it seems to work out perfectly. Getting the new house up to fluff. Then back to the big projects. I’m sure 2 years of the cottage has been a lot. Must be nice to take this little break.

I'm so glad you finally tried out the Topanga market! I commented on one of your videos months ago that you should try it out because I just knew it would have the right mix of home decor and clothes for both you and Romeo. I was there this weekend as well. I didn't see you, but it's kind of funny seeing you film stuff that I was looking at, but focus in on a different item than what I was interested in. Like at 9:14 you seem more interested in the portrait, whereas I glazed over that and zeroed in on the 3D art right next to it haha!

If you keep noticing stuff like that happening with kinsley, definitely take her in! I work in a pet rehab clinic that works with pups who have injuries - all dogs, but especially as pups get older, small things like jumping on and off the couch can slowly erode away at their joints. Rehab can support in keeping those muscles secure so their ccl (the equivalent of the human acl) and patella stay supported as long as possible (those are some of the most common injuries in dogs). But hopefully she just slept on it a little wonky 💕 glad she's feeling better!

Usually you should add some kind of gravel/small rock to the bottom of pots for drainage before you add the potting soil, worked best for me.
Our go-to flowers for annual flower pots are a dracaena spike, allysum, lobelia, and a variety of petunias. Enjoy your flowers, Macenna. 💜

We had to say goodbye to our last cat last week (we had 5 at one point and they’ve all gradually passed away of old age). Like sure we can dull this down to "why would you care who comes to someone elses birthday" but i mean there is gravity to the situation and what it means for younger generations and our society as a whole- as one. Do you have any thoughts youre willing to share on the topic? I see how it seems like petty drama, but I think it all depends on the angle you are looking from.

Snake plants like dry well draining soil, and dark low light (not direct light). :)
There may have been a foxtail seed stuck in between Kinsley's toes or underneath her paw. Happens sometimes when they have access to the outside. Looks like if it was that she may have successfully removed it. Vets recommend to check the paws thoroughly if the foxtail seeds are suspected. Glad she's feeling better now 🤗
Foxtails are so wickedly dangerous for dogs - they start one place then "burrow" into the body to wreak havoc with major organs if undetected. At the very least, they'll cause abscesses sand infections. And pain.
That’s true! And the scary thing about foxtails is they can get lodged in their gums and travel up or down their face. Happened to our Great Pyrenees, it ended up working its way out of the corner of his eye. They’re so bad for them!

Yeah she could have left him out. Considering how upset you are by it, I would think you’d prefer him left in the video vs her pretending he doesn’t exist in her life. Snake plants do better inside. They don’t like a lot of water. Keep in shade if outside and only a little water only if it’s dry. You literally can be gone for weeks without watering them.
