    8 years ago and still one of the best looking rangers on youtube. Hope this truck is still in good condition

    What year truck? And what did you do for headers?

    • @Mrnicguy00
      @Mrnicguy00 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are only 4 choices of manifolds / headers for a Ranger V8. Stock Explorer
      5.0 , torque monster headers $600 , James Duff headers $400 or custom-made headers.

    • @19jody72
      @19jody72 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Mrnicguy00 Yeah.. that's what I figured.. what year is yours? The Duff headers only fit 97 and down I believe..?

    • @Mrnicguy00
      @Mrnicguy00 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +19jody72 mine is a 97 long bed like this one. yeah, there were changes to the frame for 98+. But where there is a will there is a way.

    • @19jody72
      @19jody72 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Mrnicguy00 For sure.. better than $1000 for s10 swap headers! For an Ls swap that is.. just isn't worth it in my opinion

    • @Mrnicguy00
      @Mrnicguy00 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +19jody72 well you get what you pay for. Long tube, tuned and ceramic coated. A person could easily spend the same money on a set of 4 any Ford V8.

    Very nice ride. I've got one small question. What size tires are those? You've got the best combo of ride height and side walls I've seen. I'm at the tail end of my V8 swap on my '97 long bed and trying to get the tire size's right the first time. I'm using the '97 Mustang GT optional 17x8 split 5 spoke rims, so I'm thinking 245/50/17's will give me a stance like yours. My rear susp is already bagged and I'm considering cutting a coil out of the front springs if I need to.

    Cleanest ride I've seen for a Ford ranger, not bad... I own one but is a 4 cylinder 😂 I will achieve a better motor... still working on it tho

      Hey, the 2.3 mazda motor has potential. It's the same engine as found in the Mazdaspeed 3. You can easily get a responsive and streetable 300whp out of it. And I've seen builds as high as 800hp in MS3's and as high as 600hp in Rangers.
      Plus you get turbo sounds. PLUS you get the "haha, I beat you with a 4-banger" bragging rights.

    clean truck man . I have a 2004 I bought new. It has the 2.3dohc with 368.000mi on it. That engine is on its last leg. The body and inside is still very new looking. I think I'm going to go with the v8

    • @Drunken_Hamster
      @Drunken_Hamster 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rebuild the 2.3 and turbo it. 300whp easy. And I've seen up to 800whp on the Mazdaspeed 3, which was another car that had that motor in it, just that one was factory turbocharged (260hp, 280tq at the crank stock)

    I assume since it is a Dart it is a 3.25 stroke 347? What made you decide big bore 347 over a 3.4 stroke 363? Sure sounds good!

  • @1WBROCKSTAR
    @1WBROCKSTAR 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    94wxspower
    I may be wrong,but I can only assume he used a 3.25" stroke crank because it has a better rod ratio for the street,compared to a 3.40" stroke crank.A 3.25" crank will yield more lower end power whereas a 3.40" crank will yield more top end power.A 3.25" crank will provide the same amount of torque (395-405ftlbs)that a 3.40" crank does at 4000-4500rpm,it will make slightly more torque down low & only give up some torque to the 3.40" crank on the 5000rpm up range.

    • @dickjones6159
      @dickjones6159 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dart offers both

    • @TheMattc999
      @TheMattc999 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're entirely wrong. While the stroke itself basically has nothing to do with power, aside from increased displacement, a shorter stroke is actually easier to spin faster in turn making a short stroke crankshaft better for higher rpm power, although the difference between a 3.25 and 3.40 stroke crankshaft is negligible when it comes to rpm capability. In this case the difference in ability to produce power pretty much comes solely from final displacement, either way rod ratio has absolutely no bearing on performance, and is pretty much just useless information.

    • @timmartin4798
      @timmartin4798 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheMattc999 you are somewhat wrong rod/stroke ratio does have an effect on horsepower especially at higher rpms. A 331 will make more hp than the 347 at high rpm due to less block load because it has a better ratio.

    I bid on this truck when it was on Ebay a while back, but was outbid at the last minute. I thought it sold, but the updated truck shown here has the same plates on it!? So maybe it didn't sell, and he kept it?! He made it even cooler than it was before. This guy lives in Sycamore,Illinois. They have a car show in down town Sycamore every year, but I've never seen this truck there.
