I have a Wonderful Girl friend in Eastern Ukraine and in 4 years she has NEVER asked me for anything. As soon as she is able to get out of Eastern Ukraine and back into Kiev. I will fly over there and meet up with her. Then she will be coming over here to be with me for up to 6 months. Then she will go back to the Ukraine and wait until we get her Permanent Resident Card
I don't agree with what she says, but I also think she didn't quite articulate her thoughts well when she spoke. We speak to a lot of guys about dating in Ukraine and one thing that comes up a fair bit, is the man takes her away for a fancy vacation and whoaa.. suprise suprise she has her period. If you are taking her away, go somewhere locally. Like Lyiv or Odesa. If she doesn't want to go. There's is your answer. On another note everyone thinks that the salary is 3-400 per month. This is the "official" salary. But employers pay the minimum and the rest under the table. the tax rates in Ukraine are high and that money seems to not be reinvested in the country. So everyone has resentment for paying tax. It is better for everyone for the under the table money. But in saying that if a person is receiving 2-3k per month they are in a small percentage. If a lady is already making this, she won't need your help. If she is not. Then why is it your job to put her into this top tier. When you get married, then, of course, she is your wife, but she will live you.
How do you justify this kind of money lady? Outside of Kiev they make $200.00 - $300.00 a month and you think men should send 10X that amount of money to them. I think it is time for you to have your head examined.

It's pretty clear to me that some of the guys here have either been burned by gold diggers in the past, or they are very stingy with their money when they have more than enough to help out. I live in the middle of the US, so similar family values here. Helping family is a given, the only question being "What is needed"? Personally, if I knew in my heart that a Ukrainian lady was the one for me, it would cause me a great deal of pain to know that she had to struggle every day just to make ends meet. Later we bought an appartment in Ukraina with furniture etc..etc... So the expenses are now much less when we are there. And of course i support her parents, but not that much.

Guys, there are different girls in Ukraine. I would say, very small percentage will ask for money from men, like described in this video. I am Ukrainian and in my surrounding no ladies like this. Most Ukrainian ladies would never ask for money. They would be too embarrassed. Unfortunately, scam sites introduce Western men to ladies who care about money instead of family or love.

I think Match Guaranty has done a great service with this video and the calls for its removal are way out of line. This video shows there is a wide range of women with a wide range of needs in Ukraine. Some are poor; some are rich. Yes, $2,000 - $3,000 a month in support is extremely unusual, but finding a lady making $10k+ per month in Ukraine is also extremely unusual. Each situation is different. Each lady is different.

I understand the negative reaction to Maria's $2000/3000 pm comments and this is not unrepresentative of the typical situation with ladies in Ukraine. However learning she personally earns $10,000+ pm it puts her comments in perspective. Her figures are not large to her personally and merely represent a reasonable commitment she would need to reassure her that any potential partner is in a position and willing to provide her a lifestyle she is use to and wants to maintain. However for us it is easy to see it as yet another Ukrainian woman merely seeing western guys as a cash cow. The reality is that most Ukraine women are earning far less and a much smaller figure would be appropriate to them. The principle is however the same. These Ukrainian are potentially open to making a huge life decision which sees them leaving their environment and loved ones for a new life and before doing is it really that unreasonable for them to test the waters and be reassured that a new partner is someone committed, willing to provide security and care for them. If we can't do that as men then you will always struggle to attract a woman whether they are a western or eastern european or any other part of the world.

This is the reality. If you are SERIOUS about the woman, then some form of financial support is NOT egregious. From day 1? No...but once you believe you are in a dedicated relationship, sack up and don't be afraid to provide some support to your woman. It's a big question. From the guy's side, I'm as suspicious as any, and I'm not interested in being scammed. Time strips away ALL questions in EVERY relationship, whether it's a local girl or one at a distance. Once you are comfortable that you are in a dedicated relationship, guys, PLAY TO WIN. From the woman's side, she has choices, and I KNOW that STABILITY is important to these women. The man's job is simple...provide for the family and remain true. The woman's job is also simple...be beautiful, take care of her man/family/home. She can work, but culturally, the man is traditionally responsible for this.
Think! If she lived in the same town, how much would you spend to go out to dinner? Dating costs money. If she is in Ukraine, you do NOT have this expense...so it's not a bad investment to allocate this "dating money" to her living needs.
Caveat...if you aren't sure she's monogamous with you...that it's a serious relationship...I would not advocate giving her money.

I know a woman, she got married with American guy about 4 years ago. She had her own business in Ukraine with clothes and also rented few flats and she had very good income. And her future husband supported her each month with 3000$. I think he did it because he could, because he wanted and because he was really in love. I have a friend also who got married with a man from Italy few years ago, and he supported her with 700$ per month. Because he is not rich. And all of them are happy. So, it's not about that somebody Have to something to give. It's about you both, about possibilities, needs and deepness of your fillings and about how serious is your intentions. I know also that some men support their women with 10.000$ per month. And it's nobody's business, people do what they want and what they can.

Guys, you all forgetting one very important thing. In US and in Europe you all with your women together have a "Gender Equality". It's in your blood. And we don't have it in Ukraine. Here man is strong and woman needs to be weak. Here not exist payments 50/50 for the flats or for the bills. Man responsible for everything. If he is poor then he still responsible for everything, woman can just help him. So no reason to judge Ukrainian women. You don't judge Muslim woman for her clothes that she doesn't want to show you her hand or go with you to the swimming pool, I am sure you even will not propose it to her.
