wait wait wait, before you make this joke the seedling will have more leaves after some time and when it has enough leaves it can start growing dragon fruits
WHAT US NOT TOLD IN THE VIDEO Dragon fruits are actually a type of cactus and take a very long time to grow to a state of maturity. Like most cacti they much prefer a warm environment and are notoriously hard grow. They cannot be grown a a chia pet( if you want a chia pet, use chia seeds) as, once again, they are cacti. If you do want to grow dragon fruit you can do so it is just very hard. Please correct me I. The comments if I got anything wrong, thanks for coming to my ted talk.
I scraped out about 30 to 80 seeds from a dragon fruit I was eating and after about 6 months I have five tiny tiny plants growing. I truly is difficult, but amazing. I wonder what his growing conditions are. What kind of light, soil and water they're using
I’ve been growing mine for a year or 2 and it just hit around 7 inches tall, it goes through months of not growing but then will grow rapidly overnight.
@@fedoramcclaren4294 Thank you. It is often said to be trauma. But it's good to get some support. I'm thinking of buying it for myself to overcome this phobia.
Actually, if you watch to the very end, in the last second he shows how it’s a little mini cactus. You can also look up “dragon fruit sprout”, or “dragon fruit life cycle”. It takes years to fully grow from seed to fruit bearing cactus.
As cute as this is, I'm 99% sure those are chia seeds considering how easily they could be swapped in this video and the fact that it's a cactus plant, not a microgreen. Still cute!
Nah Im growing yellow dragonfruit right now. They look just like that when first sprouting. It took mine over a month to germinate, crazy his grew that much over a week or two.
Hahaha, did you not see the beginning of this video? it is not a cactus seed but a dragon fruit seed. And do you know what the dragon fruit plant looks like?
Takes years they turn into a bunch of long cacti. I grew them in pots on my window seal and then move them outside in the summer for more sun. They are about a foot tall and 1 plant makes many additional shoots of cats. Most have 4+ and also grows roots out the sides to branch off. 2 years and mine are about a foot long
Looks like ordinary potting compost. You can buy it in garden centres, plant nurseries and even a lot of supermarkets now it's spring (February/March) Good luck if you try
You can use a mix of vermicompost and filtered cocopeat for this. Microgreens need very little fertilizer. So 20-80 ratio will also work. Make sure the place is ventilated and indirect sunlight of few hours.
I’ve never seen dragon fruit applied as a micro green! 😂
