I don't know all the details but a lot of times if a "Will" is not written, it depends on who's name is on the insurance policy. It seems that son's name is not on the policy. A Funeral Home does not do anything to the body because of lawsuits until they speak to the person on the policy.

The son mentioned it was his father's wishes to have his Services in Saginaw. You would think he could still arrange for a public viewing in Flint which he represented for the city to pay their last respects. IMO
