As an Aquarius, my relationships with Capricorns have always been hit or miss. The controlling aspect of their personality is what tends to drive me away from them. But at the same time, I will say that the good ones love deeply. They may not always show it, but they care about the people they love very much.

I always have to say not all even though I shouldn't have to. It's really common sense that not all people in a sign will be exactly the same because we all have unique personalities due to our natal chart. I’m currently dating a Capricorn, I had a good little giggle when you mentioned Saturn being an old man because even though he’s 4 years younger than I am I refer to him as a grumpy old man.
I have a Capricorn friend I’ve known for 12 years. I love him, but he is Over the top controlling! Even said he knows he would kill me if we were together because he knows men will always be after me, and he thinks i would cheat (meanwhile, Ive never cheated in my life). We always catch up around our birthdays, but i let it drift away because I’d be trapped with him. If I were after money, I would have threw all caution to the wind and went with it. But I need someone to allow for freedom and speak to my spiritual and esoteric side first and foremost at this stage.
I’m an Aquarius woman with a Capricorn husband. And I have a Capricorn stellium so sometimes I feel more traditional like capricorns. However, I still like freedom and will turn down an offer I don’t want to take. Luckily, my husband doesn’t try to control me a lot( every now and then) but I tell him no when I disagree! He’s such a family person, and that’s where we clash sometimes. I love family but don’t feel the need to be around them all the time and for all holidays. Well, the way I see now is it as siblings relationship cause of Saturn being the parental planet, not that I’m saying Aquarius don’t have it going on but it’s familial. In my experience we create these amazing experiences that are like cyclones or dust storm that have no words. Yet all things come to an end either by Us, the Capricorn being to serious, to grounded, to pessimistic or Aquarius bring to free thinking, to idealistic, or to flirtatious with other people. I am going to admit when it’s all over you guys just don’t leave, but you guys leave a mark. I probably have more craters on my heart and mind than the moon with my Aquarius relationships. You hit the nail on the head with my think towards Aquarius.

We do compliment each other on things you mentioned, but it's easier for us because he's Aquarius venus and I have 6 planets in stellium understand Capricorn sign in first house, so that makes me more Capricornish than some Capricorns Lol. He gave up on idea of controling me because he understood it will make me run away Lol and I for used to his passive nature, so I make plans and he accept them. I have to say my mother in law is Aquarius and her husband is Capricorn and if you would have to guess they seem like they switched roles. His more a free spirit and she's more like home body hahaha. Yeah I was very attracted to a Capricorn but when he drank he was vindictive and manipulative and verbally abusive. And since I'm an Aquarius I spoke my mind because I'm not gonna take shit from people who do not literally know me and think I'm a doormat. We argued when he got drunk and days or minutes later he would act like nothing happened. And I'm like wtf bipolar much.. lmao. So this Capricorn was a no go for me. My ex mom in law was a Capricorn too. She was controlling and fucking talked shit about me. And I'm not confrontational. But after I left her son I learned how to stand up for myself. Now she doesn't like me because I'm no longer silent and I say what I want to say. My ex who is a Scorpio also was like who are you? Lmao.
