It’s Stan’s birthday this weekend so go wish him a bundle of joy and longevity ❤
Time to wish stan happy birthday
Thank youuuuuuuuuu
Happy birthday 🎉 Stan!
@@ProkoTVhappiest of birthdays 🎉
Happy Birthday! ✨
Dude! This turned out great! Thanks for coming by and hanging out. Next time, we'll come to your city and bring cameras.
😂❤️ can't wait to see that
And yea Happy Birthday Stan🥳🎉 i went to proko to wish you but idk if you can see it in that many comments so yea
I started drawing because of you and James Gurney 12 years ago. Thank you so much. More than words can express. Happy Birthday.
The first page of your #1 sketchpad there.. maybe you are embarrassed by it, but you don't know how uplifting that actually is to us mortals to see that you used to make bad drawings too. Thanks for that!
stan's the 🐐
@@space.tel-e-grams Always happy to show of all my bad drawings lol
I think this generation… this generation will forever be in debt to proko
You're goddamn right ❤❤❤
I never learned from him. My skills are from my own doing. mine alone.
@@TheArtGuyChannel
What skills ?!
@@Ty-1452 Some people are self taught.
@@soybasedjeremy3653 I know that. I was hoping to see this person's skills. I visited their channel, hoping to see some of their art, and I saw nothing.
Thank you Proko for making drawing more accessible to us all ❤
I think so many young artists would have an incredible boost in confidence if they saw Stan's "Box-01" drawings. So many artists give up when they compare themselves to others who have already gotten 10+ years of PROFESSIONAL work behind their belt, and they don't realize they're doing perfectly fine on their artistic journeys
Fan and friend, here. Love Stan. Great, great job on this short film. Bravo.
We love your work!
Proko is great if you already know about what he's talking (he makes good recaps). One guy that really thought me for free with hours and hours of live drawing is Prof Marc Leone and his free Drawing Database youtube channel from the University of Kentucky. Perspective, anatomy, art history, you name it, he has hour long tutorials. I recommend going through them with pencil in hand, go through those solid, solid build up of knowledge and them come to Proko for a quick reminder.
Exactly! I love prof Marc Leone's classes, they have huge value
Awesome video man. I love these videos where you step into someone else’s world and take us along for the ride
The goats are in the comments !
This is history happening right in front of us. Thank you Slew and Proko team for this documentary, it's a joy and privilege to watch art, business and art education revolution rolling out and be part of it. This for some weird reason reminds me Andy Warhol's films... :)
Crazy I actually grew up with Proko back in high school beginning my artistic journey. I can't imagine a world without any Proko videos when I started out. I think many of us who grew up with Proko can say that.
The way i learn to draw is mostly inspired by proko and i always had fun while learning from his videos
He's not just an art god, but a full 360° entepreneur, that's so inspiring.
Agreed! I'm so jealous of people like him. I don't have a business bone in my body.
@@Tehrawrzorz that's like saying you don't have an art bone in your body when you've never done art. You totally 100% can if you try!
heck yeah dude
the guy who became a massive sellout, really?
champion people like sal khan, who does free education on a global scale in multiple languages, in multiple subject areas and topics. who registered their educational service as a non-profit the moment it started, which works with top secular universities and has expert opinions and knowledge
not the grifter trying to gatekeep art lessons, or lies to their customers saying that they cannot do what sal khan did (decades ago...) because it would cost too much (since apparently people drawing for a few years at companies known for sexual harassment allegations and misogyny are more expensive to hire than PhD's at harvard)
I was cool seeing this new side of proko i have been watching their videos learning but this was just ❤
Slew and Stan both teaching the world art skills one video at a time! Can't wait to watch this doc over lunch :)
I was hyped to watch this one since the Watts video was out, thank you so much for sharing and I'm excited to see the next one!
i started watching proko when i started my first art class 6 years ago and my first two years my drawing improved massively so thank you stan you created a hole generations of artist around the world
I really wasnt drawn to proko.
This is amazing!! This is my favorite series you do never quit❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for doing these documentaries/interviews! They’re inspiring as well as helping to understand how much time/skill goes into creating so much high quality work.
Stan is the BEST! Great Video :)
@@AaronBlaiseArt nothing but love master Blaise!
this video is simply outstanding!!!
we need draftsmen :(
I love Proko. I learned about the Loomis Method from him and my drawing skills have improved so much. It was like he switch a light on in a dark room.
3:05 dave rapoza's long lost twin?
Awesome video dude!! Very cool to see behind the scenes
Skelly documentary next 😎
My teacher Proko!! so nice to watch this!! Thank you Slew ❤
Uhh the bot comments 💀
Great video, thank you. I love Proko’s channel, I love how he breaks down how to draw complex structures for anyone to be able to understand and follow to improve their drawing skills. As a school art teacher, I regularly recommend my students watch Proko’s tutorials to help them develop their portraiture drawing skills.
Stan was a big reason why I started my channel
The realistic process of making art business. It's long rocky road and I also I like the collaborative thinking of "win win" solution
Hullo SLEW, fantastic video and seeing where you get your inspiration is quite telling too! I am excited for you and your studio and hoping your dreams keep coming true for you and all of your students !
My Digital Art & Life Mentor since 2016 - In Omnia Paratus! 🙏❤️🔥🕊️✨
Proko is the goat
I REALLY HATE HE SAID NOT ANYOEN CAN learn to write lord of the rings or harry pitter well what if I NEED TO BE A CREATIVE GRNOUS I CANT BE JUST ANYONE DAMMIT
NOT Everyone CAN LEARN TO SPEAK and talk . Everyone cant learn.
It's incredible to see what an influence Stan had and still has on the art community!
Thanks for the insights - great video! ❤
Me, who paid $50.00 for a Proko's course:
(which I'm loving and is more than worth the price)
If ya haven't taken a salary in two years, how is that working for you? • And "Happy Birthday"! Hope you're doing something fun to celebrate.
ngl i let resumed drawing again bc of this, many thanks xD
question, how do you get the ratio right without having to mark body proportions?
Slew thanks for sharing. I think back to your original studio and your desire to move to connect with other artist. Now i see you traveling to far places to connect.. and that make me wonder what your future studio plans look like? In this new and very virtual world.. you can be anywhere.. and connect. By the way.. i miss the vibe of the old studio.
Great video! I've been learning art online for around 15 years. I still remember when Proko was brand new! Seeing the original Proko website pop up on screen brought back memories haha. Artists nowadays are absolutely blessed to have someone like Stan putting out such amazing work. The content that existed before him, while wonderful, simply does not compare in complexity and production quality. His channel and website have become essential tools for learning how to draw online. I remember when I was in middle school, I used to dream of the day that I could finally afford to purchase some of his lessons. He absolutely deserves all the success that has come his way.
great video @slewp
The Man Who Taught the World How to Draw in PROFESSIONAL WAY
Just like we talk about Loomis and other masters of the past, hundred years from now people will talk about Proko
I felt so sad when he talked about his business expenses and salary. I wished I could help him in some way! He is my art inspiration.
Remember that humanity invented Art and drawing at least a million years before we invented math or science.
i really got emotional watching this, proko really pushed me so far, i owe him a lot. Thank you Mr. Proko!
bold assumption to say he taught the whole world. I don't watch him.
don't know if it's just me but bro kinda look like jesse pinkman
Nice man, this was great!
My brother Eric lives there.🙏♾️❤️
Ever since I was a kid I've wanted to get good at drawing. I've never been able to. For the longest time I thought it was that I just didn't have the energy or ability to focus for long enough, and maybe there is some of that. But lately I've started to think there is more too it. I've realized that I can't visualize things in my mind like most people can (I don't remember the name for it). Like I know there is a way to draw humans that uses like rough shapes like oval and guiding lines going across, but I can't see that in my head and I can't put it down on paper. Not without a reference. The only thing I'm able to draw are super basic shapes like squares and triangles. Everything beyond that I need references for and I can only try to copy it directly. If I try to make it my own, I suddenly don't know where any lines go.
What do you think of this idea? That some people struggle a lot and need other ways to learn because they can't visualize the thing they are trying to draw.
Now I'm into photography instead because there I can visualize by actually looking. But even then, I'm not good at visualizing different focal lengths and apertures for my subjects, so I constantly loom through my camera.
The term you probably had in mind is "aphantasia". It's not necessarily the blocker - the Drawabox guy says he has that too and everyone is learning constructive drawing from him 😂 I've also encountered people with dysgraphia, which is a "I can't write with good hand-eye coordination" problem. In both cases usually the answer is to work within a strict technical method that makes it less necessary to visualize, like using rulers or marking in grid squares. The blocker in most cases is just not being pointed towards the technical methods that work for you - there are a lot of them.
Having relatively good visualization myself, I tend to have another problem, which is rushing through a drawing to try to get to what I see and letting it get very scribbly. It predisposes me to focus on cartooning, since that can go at the speed I want to go at. And even then I still benefit from using copious references.
You look like Stan from Proko
Stan: Yeah 😀
Glad to see my two favorite artist in same video ❤ love you slew❤
Not to mention most of his course are over price.
Okay bro it's either the few hundred dollar course or the hundred grand in tuition from an American art college that teaches you 0 fundamental and technical knowledge
@@AUSWQPCV im not comparing to college tuition. Im comparing to other quality tutorials with the same price. My analogy is that if all you eat is fast food like Mc Donalds and you are not aware of other quality restaurants at the other corner.
This video turned out to be a bragging rights video
senpai said do your proko homework!
Nicely done!
The way Stan look at you at 1:46 😳
Okay but i'm not doing his pencil sharpening routine !

This video title goes so hard
Are those black chairs the same ones you used in previous videos, but with new black slip-covers?
Yes lol
Superb insight.
I have learnt pretty much EVERYTHING about draftsmanship from Proko. Been watching him for years now…so much so that he kinda feels like an old friend now. So thankful for him and his videos ❤
P.S.- The guy is aging like fine wine. ✨
🔥🔥🔥
Love this video
I LOVE STAN PROKOPENKOOOOO!!!!!❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
I’m Grateful for the many free lessons with invaluable knowledge. Thank you Slew, Stan and the Proko team.
i learned most of my figure drawings through his videos back in 2013. Really a great and talented person
Proko’s free anatomy course was MONUMENTAL for me to learn, sharpen and perfect my anatomy skills. His final and engaging way to teach made all the difference, and as a human he’s pretty awesome too!!
Proko is a treasure!
I thought he died😭😭
Really humbling to see prokos early work and it isn't so great in contrast with his mastery of realism and realistic shading. Shows we all start from the same place and proko wasn't born with "le magical art skills" that are unattainable for anybody else.
Still can't forgive him for Wally and Ava tho, wtf was that comic lol.
Bro build a community and brought best people from every corner...
If it were not for Proko I wouldn't have ever been exposed to the resources and insights that allowed my self-teaching from lesser than good stick figure to classic portraitures in just 4 years of diligent study and practice.
this is amazing :)) i lvoe Stan, i love Proko, and it's a treat peeking behind the curtain! beautiful intreview, too!
Great video, Slew! After watching Proko for some years now, it was only very recently that I caught a 5year old video of his 'beginnings' (trained at Jeff Watts studio, to one-man operation via his parents' house, to big-time professional studio with a team) to world-wide acclaim now. Yours is a wonderful interview and tour of current Proko that captures all this. Stan's is a story of vision and perseverance. Certainly he had a great mentor and teacher in Jeff Watts who saw Stan's potential. And it's all history from there. Very inspiring!
And BTW, 'hats off' to you for your new art school venture. I'm sure, just like Stan P, your passion for art and art instruction will lead to ever greater success. I certainly hope so. Once again, thanks for this inspiring video on 'Proko'.
Exactly the analogy with language learning is what comes into my mind too when I think about Art (talent vs practice). Totally agree with Proko/Stan.
Proko is definitely an entrepreneur and I am trying to Teach other artists through my nonprofit, that they can learn the business side of being a professional artist as well. It just proves that a lot of hard work is involved in making dreams come true. Dedication, integrity, honesty, and generosity. All are a part of what Proko has displayed in his business practices.
He didn't "teach me how to draw" I have another approach to learning, but based on that word "approach" I thank Proko for showing me different paths and approaches, he created more than a channel, he created a community of artists, teachers, enthusiasts and many other categories of people who work in visual art, this guy is very good and deserves congratulations.
I learned to draw anatomy with those early Proko videos years ago. I instantly recognized the high quality on production and content and learning curve, there was nothing like Proko at that time on any video platform (at last not for free). Those times where awesome :) Today, when someone see my drawings and say he wants to learn, the first think i say is "if you are serious, then start by watching Proko early videos on you tube"
That's awesome, when I found Proko content was the first time where "hmmm oh that's a way to learn it correctly" cause other videos on TH-cam years ago were more about shortcuts not teaching fundamentals
Thank you for sharing, this video is so awesome, you both are so inspiring to me and maybe to all of us,
hope we all can achieve our goals someday
thanks again for sharing, may God bless you for all you all done for us here
For free c'mon
Proko OUR HERO
Stellar Documentary! You did such an amazing job! Its really cool to get a more behind the scenes look at Stan and the Proko team. Thanks!!
thank you
I've been waiting for this video for a month! It's like an early birthday present haha
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
‘Love it! Thanks for this wonderful video, More power to you and to Stan!
Thanks you Stan. I'm one of those guys that start art because of you. God bles you. And you too Slew
This is awesome! So inspiring! Thanks so much Stan and Slew! I live in a small town with limited art resources. And I dream of creating a non profit art studio.
Such a small world because i have followed jeff watts for years and took his dad robert’s advice on a few books that influenced my art style, very cool slew
i was one of his first viewer, at that time i did not understand due to my lack to serious interest, then 5 years later he blew up and i picked up art seriously. I cannot thank him enough for his videos
It makes complete sense that editors would remote in to use the better hardware for editing, I just wouldn't have expected it
This old lady thinks that both Stan & You are Awesome Slew! Cheers!
There is a thing that I just can’t stand about this video: it didn’t last longer. I enjoyed every second, thank you so much!
