    Another great informational video Aaron. This one relates to the vq but alot of this info can be used on any engine. Love it brother.

    I had no idea how in depth a project like this would be. I have to redo the head gaskets for my frontier and I don't have the 4-5k that the shop quoted me for. I have intermediate mechanical experience. Your video has given me an idea of what I am atleast looking at. Nervous not going to lie. Thanks.

    This is amazing video. Great timing. I have a 2003 G35 sedan- that overheated and looking at overhauling the engine. I suspect that it may need the head gasket replaced. This was just what I needed. Your attention to detail is awesome.

    When you took the little sprockets for the camshafts off you had the dow pins pointing down. So why did you put them back on with the dows pointing up?

  • @irresponzible
    @irresponzible 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Dude, I fucked up the crank bolt thread on the crank doing the same thing and had to clean it up with a tap.
    The thread on the bolt was shorter than the crank thread, which meant the un-threaded part of the bolt drove into the crank thread. The pulley normally makes up the difference and prevents contact. Hope it's all good.
    Also, keen to see a full piston swap build!

    • @irresponzible

      @@N8TeK easy way to fix it would be to install a spacer or bunch of washers under the bolt head. Or just reinstall the pulley. Same same.

    On minute 5:08, you mention that when taking off the head, you highly recommend they get machined. So what gasket do you recommend to compensate for what was taken off? I ask because the engine for a Pathfinder 2001, 3.5, has a machining maximum of 20 thousands, after that it's recommend by NISSAN, to get rid of it.

    Bro that was awesome job. I have a 2007 Infiniti m35x with the V6. the car is just overheating and I get a stutter when the car is idling with no engine codes. So I think the coolant is going in the combustion chamber. will the head gasket and trimming be the same as you did on your TH-cam channel.
