I love the design and will five it a whirl as it feels like ut is my atyle anyways whenever I am planning out colir conbo and stiches for borders and even colir work for a lettering and you mentioned a horse which even with pit hokders and blanket squares would be fun using this method if illusions for the fun variations of animal and so on. Autum designs with in the back side having an Acorn and Maplee Leaves! Happy knitting indeed!

Hello my name is Brian and I was recently at I my local stitches knitting convention in Sacramento California in early March of this year and I noticed a booth called makers mercantile selling shadow knitting kits and they had a sample for the unicorn shawl shadows knitting kit but they were all sold out at their booth of the unicorn shadow shawl knitting kit so My friend melia was kind enough to get me the kit to make the unicorn shadow shawl knitting kit as a belated birthday gift and my kit just came in the mail today and I was curious but the pattern says On row 1 and it says to knit 3,knit 1,knit 3 but why dose it not just say simply to knit 7 stitch instead of saying knit3,knit 1,knit 3 and also The pattern called for a motif color and a background color what is the difference between each color and where are each color used in the shawl and also I know how to knit and do Purl stitches but I am new and a beginner to shadow knitting So if someone can send me some videos or website links to how to do shadow knitting for beginners I would appreciate it and if someone has done this particular unicorn shadow shawl I would love to see pictures of your progress or your finished item and I would love you to give me some tips and tricks on how to do this unicorn shadow shawl and if someone can let me know what size needles and needle length I would need to purchase for this unicorn shadow shawl I would appreciate it and one more thing if someone is willing to create me a TH-cam video show me how to get started on making this project for the unicorn shadow shawl I would appreciate it
    Thanks 🙏

Am I allowed to ask: Where did you get the paper you used for the pattern layout?

I used KnitVisualizer and created it on my computer. But you could use regular graph paper and just color in every two rows.

Thanks for the very clear video! I assumed it was hard, so I never looked into it. You made it super easy! “Garter stitch” where you want it to pop out, “stockinette” where you don’t. And, the front row will always be knit across. Is that correct?

Exactly! You got it! Happy knitting.

I like the technique but your notation could be confusing. You indicated purl bumps on the right side with a dot. Since we actually knit those stitches on the wrong side to create a purl bump on the right side, your chart would have looked more familiar had you indicated the actual stitch done on the wrong side. While I understand your intention, a less experienced knitter may not see the distinction. Thank you for your fine, well thought-out videos.
