Your husband saying “everybody loves her” is so true. Chellsie you seem so kind and caring and this comeback is because of your love for the sport. You have nothing to prove to anyone...you’ve already shown how incredibly talented you are. This 60 year old, former gymnast and US Freestyle Ski Team member is rooting for you!!
With all the stories coming out about coaches abusing their power and leaving gymnasts with so much trauma, it is so beautiful to watch you and your father coach with kindness, respect and joy.
In a world that is literally falling apart around us, these videos have become a weekly dose of serotonin I so desperately need. Keep kicking ass, Chellsie, you are a treasure.
I LOVE how they’re showing how they condition and train the kids that go to their gym. Such a great way to have some transparency with all the accusations going on about coaching abuse currently in USAG.
I get so bummed out every time these videos end 😭😂 they’re just too good and I look forward to them all week. I’m a teacher spending every waking moment planning for my first week which starts tomorrow and I still stopped what I was doing to watch this. These videos have really been giving me something to take my mind off of things while inspiring me to push forward. Not to mention the production value on this one was amazing. Gets better every time.
OMG same!!! I'm so stressed about my university reopening in 10 days--struggling to prepare 3 different methods of teaching, worrying about safety, and so anxious and angry all the time... but when I watch these Chellsie and Andy videos it's like I can temporarily just push it all away and escape.
Andy needs to train the US team from now on and also be in charge of training all gymnastics coaches so that they can all adopt his laid back, gentle teasing, warm and affectionate style. He is the anti-Bela.
@@LoyaFrostwind that's sarcasm, right? Like... he was the reason Tasha Schwikert had a torn hamstring. He forced her down into a split stretch until it ripped away from the bone during the 2000 Olympics.
I love how he recognizes her ability and readiness and pushes her just enough when she needs it. Even someone as amazingly talented as Chellsie needs someone to nudge her just beyond what we think our own limitations are.
thought/wish/dream: Chellsie should do a gymnastics-themed exercise video after she makes it to the 2021 olympics, one that's accessible to everyone! so a lot of what she's leading the gymnasts through but also with modifications for people who aren't flexible yet (and there should be a flexibility section too!) and for people who have larger bodies and for people who may have trouble standing or sitting and whatnot. it would be so cool! and i would pay as much as necessary to help support her publishing it bc we all know makers of stuff don't make enough money, it all goes to publishers. she's so positive and wholesome. like, when the one gymnast wasn't able to make it to the top and then chellsie said "but did you make it further than you thought you would?" and the gymnast goes "... yeah..." that really hit me.
Aww congrats to Aaliyah! She made it to the top! Fierce! I think we need a video of conditioning exercises we can do at home. I don’t have access to a gym but I could do some at home. I love how everyone encourages everyone else. You ladies are awesome! I’m so happy for Chellsie and how her hard work is paying off! You’ve got this girl!
chellsie makes gymnastics look so easy and i have to remind myself that i almost fractured my foot doing presses :) once you’re out of gymnastics you can truly see how hard it is! i still can’t believe how much strength we need just to do a simple kip!
Look at those champs doing press to handstands and climbing rope!! You go ladies!! Love it... just love it - Chellsie coaching and encouraging all while she is in training and being a mom and wife!! God bless all you sweet souls! 💕
Chellsie, honestly, what you are doing right now is pure joy. It is so wonderful to see you and your gymnasts thrive in such a positive environment. With everything the Gymnastics community has been through and is going through, you are just the tonic that everyone needs right now. Magical
I love how this is evolving into Andy suggesting new, hard skills and Chellsie saying “stop it” 😂 we love you Chellsie, as a 37 year old who still loves flipping, you are truly an inspiration
I have just started watching this series and I am already hooked! I really like Chellsie's strength and courage to try things, as well as her relationship with her dad! Also, it's so nice to see such a positive role model in gymnastics!
The moment Andy tried to convince Chellsie to do the Arabian on the beam was a touching moment. The music and the serenity of it was truly like a father and his young kid trying to encourage them to try something new or that they're afraid of. it was if we were transported back in time to these two at the start of her in gymnastics. great moment
This is a real grown woman and mother! With all the curves that come with motherhood and being out of the sport for almost a decade. Not some starved stick teenager that weighs 80 pounds. Rope climbing, flips, tumbles, vaults and everything else. She is already surpassing college level gymnists. This is one of the best "never too late to try" stories of inspiration. And I like how Andy "pushes" without pushing. As soon as Chellsie takes on a new skill and starts to improve, he puts the next step into her mind. Keeps her always looking just a bit higher and never getting a feeling of complacement. Thanks for every new video. I am so rooting for Chellsie. 2021 US Team!!!
A breath of fresh air for the sport of gymnastics. Your story and journey are so needed now more than ever before. I can't wait to see you tumble your way back into competition. :-D
I liked the addition of the girls and the conditioning. It’s like getting a behind the scenes look. Also, between the “I can, but not today”, “it didn’t suck”, and “do you want me to call the waaahbulance”, you have some quality quotables.
Being in the gym with chellsie must be so inspiring for those kids! Considering she is inspiring me at 35 yrs old to get serious about looking after my body and health
The first slow mo vault! Wow! And for some reason the second one plus dad pushing her on beam and building it up with mats, made me teary eyed. So much try and love.
The editing is SO good. Love the music and the camera work. This is one of my favorites so far. Such a great job. And Chellsie, you’re so dang amazing. So much love to you guys! ❤️🙌👏
Poor Andy, help a brother out! For real, he is a breath of fresh air. Patient, funny, kind and an amazing coach. Chellsie is so blessed. Get it Chellsie!!!!
I love watching Chellsie and her father coach. As a cheerleading coach I know how hard it can be to motivate your athletes and push them while still being supportive and understanding that they are still learning and that many are still growing and/or their bodies are changing and that this causes a steep learning curve at times. USA gymnastics and many of their coaches have been in the media very frequently recently as more and more allegations come out about abuse and mistreatment of athletes in the sport. I think the reason why Chellsie’s videos are so incredible is because they not only showcase her journey as an athlete being coached by her father but also how she coaches gymnastics. She has said from the beginning she is doing this because she loves doing gymnastics and wants to ensure her athletes at her gym make progress but also love gymnastics and have a positive, supportive, understanding, and compassionate teacher so they want to continue doing the sport. It is so unfortunate that the majority of our elite gymnasts had to endure so much stress, heartache, pain, and abuse that was hidden and brushed under the rug for so many years while these athletes were at quite possibly the most crucial years for emotional growth, self confidence, and overall personal development. I believe that the fact that were able to persevere and then advocate for themselves and others in the sport make them great role models to others and of course amazing and brave women. I sincerely hope that the new officials who are making changes so that these athletes are protected continue to ensure they are protected from now on and not loose sight of what is important in order to keep USA gymnastics on top. I also hope that all upcoming elite gymnasts and any athlete gets to experience the type of coaching that Chellsie and her father display. They not only produce amazing gymnasts but coach them in an environment that makes them feel safe and supported and focuses on the love of the sport and individual growth and success.
I am so here for Andy pushing Chellsie to do ALL the skills. He's hilarious! Thank you, Chellsie for sharing your journey with us! It is so fun to watch! Rooting for you!
I really admire your relationship & dynamic with your dad. When your parent is your coach, sometimes it can be difficult. But Andy does such an amazing job of pushing you just the right amount and being encouraging & kind. And it’s really obvious he knows when to be a coach and when to be more of a dad, if that makes sense.
