Hey Bob, I have the same R129, the problem you are having with your passenger seat may be with the child safety switch that you can see at 14:09 in your video. Move the switch in the other position, and then try your seat belt. Ken.
Looks good. I live in Buffalo and traveled to Youngstown in September to see an 81 380SL, but ended up getting a 97 SL320 in Poughkeepsie in October with only 55k miles on it. Ditto about the brittle plastics.
Absolutely beautiful car! My dream car was the 450/560SL models and I have come to really like these newer models. You are going to enjoy that one! Cheers and Thumbs Up!
I do, I don't think I can ever sell it. I still one day want to do a full tear down just like you but currently not the focus. I've tried to convince my wife I need another project but the reality is I don't have the time. Think you'll ever have another jeep project or tackle another engine swap?@@BobWilson84
@@BobWilson84 I like to look for the LS430's on CL on the weekends..early morning....just missed one, 2004, 38,000 miles for 10k a few weeks ago...darn....there is a LS400 for 12k in Georgia I think for 12k, 90,000 miles..those two models have a cult like following..like your video on the Benz..great looking car.
BINGO! "this is NOT a car that anybody should buy if you have a mechanic do it for you" They are an absolute $ pit if you do! Not bad if you can do your own work.
hey bob do you have an instagram im thinking about buying one at 18 and tbh i don’t know much about how to fix a car but i’ll definitely learn to fix it on my own and it will be my first car. I just want opinions and advice on it.
My man, this would be a terrible first car!! Find something fun and simple with tons of cheap parts available, like a Miata. A R129 is way too complex for someone just getting started.
Great video! The 129 is really nice but the supporting crew and cast stole the show on this one!

Honestly these old 90’s Mercedes will last longer than any new car. Would take this any day over new junk
It's hearing people say they paid $4k for an SL that almost makes me wish I lived in the States. Nothing like that here (Soviet Kanuckistan).

My man!! I cant wait to see your Jeep project all finished up. Hope you are doing well my friend.
Incredibly knowledgeable assistants you have! 😎
Sorry Bob, the switch is seen at 9:16 , Ken
great fun video and love the kids!!
Very nice!!
The issue with the seat belt. There is a relay under each seat which go bad.
God bless them
Thank you my friend!
Beautiful car
Awesome kids - has fro sharing! :)

Hey, sold it a while back. Do you still have yours?

Dude your kids are adorable....forgot we where speaking of cars right lol great vid.
I think a Lexus LS400 or LS430 would have been a better way to go. German cars just kill you on parts.
Ya man 100%. If a nice LS 400 or 430 pops up I’m going to grab one
