For a relatively small channel, I found this to be the most succinct review while also being well-rounded and displaying the many styles of photography that can be achieved with this lens. Thanks, keep it up, Im sure the channel will grow
I like this review, it's genuine, the landscape is beautiful and you are informative and the right amount of quirky. You earned yourself another subscriber :)
I purchased this lens a few months ago and it exceeded my expectations in terms of image quality, even at its maximum aperture. Furthermore, as you mention, the IS is very practical and its size is very comfortable. I use it with my R6 and R6 Mk II. By the way, what a beautiful landscapes in your video. Greetings from Buenos Aires.
Hey Angela! You've been a big help a few years ago, when I bought my M50 and was starting out with photography. Your videos about the M-mount lenses and adaptors were very useful. I have recently switched to an R6 Mark II, and will keep an eye out for more videos about the R series in general. Thanks heaps and keep up the great content!
Not camera related but how were the crowds at the park. You seemed to film at quite a few locations. I would like to visit Yosemite in a few years but it always seems packed.
Crowds are inevitable and going to happen at the more popular hikes, but If you get there early enough the crowds aren’t too bad. By around 10am they roll in. Get there at sunrise to find some good parking. I will say tho regardless of time, don’t go during three day weekends, Memorial Day/Labor Day is horribly packed.
Just subscribed. Nice video. I got mine at $429 from Best Buy in a whim. I picked up an R3 recently and became more cautious about the weight. I found this lens fits the bill in many ways despite without the “L” status quo.
Ooooooo this is a great question. I like the 50mm better for outdoor photos, but I like the 35mm better for photos in a tight space and video. I’m thinking of doing a comparison video soon 🤔
I have this lens and I really love it. It's a perfect fit for my R6 II for video and macro but sometimes the slow focusing is annoying. When I have my VND on, it's even slower especially when it goes out of focus. Have you had any issues like that?
Hello how different is this lens from a RF15-35L 35mm i have a 15-35 never experienced a 35mm prime should i get it for event portraits exhibition gallery portraits. i have a R5C
Yeah it will probably be able to comfortably frame 5 people in landscape orientation from that distance… if it is well lit keep the f stop at 8 to ensure everyone is in focus
Hello Master: Please help and give me some advice, The camera I am currently using is Canon EOS R10, The kit lens used with it is (RF-S18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM) My main subject matter is toy photography. The secondary shooting content is street photography or portrait photos. Now I want to buy new lenses, after watching your video, Want to compare between Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM and RF85mm F2 Macro IS STM After making a choice, I would like to ask you to give me some advice on which lens is more suitable for me? Thank you.🙏🙏🙏
Hey!!! I don’t have the RF 85, but I feel like it would be better for what you’re trying to do, cause it’s a macro which I think would be nice for toy photography. It’s also a really good lens for portraits, I’m not too sure about street photography, but I think it would be good for that as well.
Depends on your photography style but a 35mm will be more versatile on an crop body (its basically a 50mm on a full frame). Not to mention you get the 1/2 macro, and Image Stabilization.
Would you recommend this with a R6 MKII and how bout using it on a gimbal... Will ter be any issue on a gimbal with that kind of protruding lens while setting the lens on AutoFocus
I dont Really have any experience with that camera, but it’s a RF mount so it should still perform well with it. The lens isn’t super long, so I think it would be fine on a gimbal
The rf35mm 1.8 is miles above the rf 50mm 1.8 in image quailty and in focal length . If your happy with the 50mm you gonna be cropping your pants with 35mm I never use my 50mm after buying the 35mm and it was true with the ef m mount 32mm and the ef 50mm 1.8. The I suggest everyone puts the rf 35mm at the very top of your non L glass list. Other then that your video was great awesome footage and compositions and insightful. Thank you.

I did the same(picked up a 35mm and 85mm to go with my R6)! I'm looking to take pictures all over Berlin later this month.

Every once in awhile it has a hard time focusing when lighting isn’t ideal
Great review! Thank you for being thorough! Very helpful!

Hi Angela! I've owned this lens for a while now, and I really love it. It's always on my camera. Thanks for the video!
Will this lens work for a enclosed photobooth weel lit and about 8 ft distance between the subjects mainly group photos tia

No lousy drama,
Better review
Keep it up
Wow great review can tell you put a lot of work into it and I have decided on this now instead of the 24mm.

Hi girl great video. Do i need to be professional photographer to know how to make the video background blurry? I considered buying this lanse
Hey there! The blur come from a lens with a low f/stop (1-2is considered low) you don’t need a hella good camera body for the effect
@@AngelaZuniga tnx girl I have canon r50
I have an apsc body, should I buy 35mm or 50mm

I was on the fence. Gotta get it now
Me too! Excited for next week
So I have a 5D mark III. Does my camera only fit ef lenses or rf too? Do I need an adapter for rf?
The 5d mark iii only takes EF lenses, atm I don’t think that canon has a RF to EF adapter though… only EF to RF
@@AngelaZuniga this is very helpful! Thank you 🙏🏻
Great review as usual. Now you have to do one for the RF 28 mm pancake lens. 😁😁😁
Ooooooo I actually told myself “no more new lenses until November.” I was going a little too crazy 😝
So sad the sound is bad 😢
I think next time I ought to hook up my rode lavalier 🤔
It's not that bad though...
Definitely not bad she was just talking what more do you need to hear??
you could lower the sensitivity of audio recording in camera
Subscribing on your channel was the best thing i ever made on TH-cam ❤
