Had a wholesome moment flying the raiju. Like I was just chilling in stealth mode and all of the sudden I saw player with a bounty appear on the map just behind me. They snuck up behind me in a raiju and could have easily taken me out. I basically already accepted I was going to get shot down. But instead they just chilled there. So I didn't activate weapons, but rolled side to side (waving with a plane) trying to indicate to them that I was chill. And we just flew side by side doing some maneuvers for a while.
Using VTOL mid dogfight and watching your opponent fly right past because they didn’t anticipate it and then you just shoot them down is like something out of Ace Combat or Top Gun. Basically the equivalent of hitting the brakes so they’ll fly right past.
Yo, the other day I did that nose up vertical brake over my opponent like how Maverick did in Top Gun: Maverick the other day. It was BEAUTIFUL! Also did the VTOL-flip/spin & rotate move the AI jet does from the movie Stealth...but I missed my shots LOL But was able to getta missile then guns on him because i was behind him now. That’s one thing I love about the nerf to the explosive cannons. Dogfights fights are a lot longer and more fun. I’ve had way more of a good time jet battling since the update

Cool tip about the raiju is it can hover without losing altitude, so you can really lurk at sky limit. That and it can hover upside down, and breaking while flying fast lets you drift

Pro-Tip to destroy Raijus: Use starling, wait for them to go hover-mode -> spam missiles. Or just minigun them, since their turning radius is just far bigger.
Really big tip for the Raiju (that you may already know): the Raiju can out run any missile shot at it. , even in a straight run. And most of the time it’ll out run its own missiles. So 99% of the time you’re fighting another Raiju, you risk doing more damage than good by using missiles. It’s best just to continue to try and strafe them

Lead the target when using cannons, the reason you're missing so much is the rounds have travel time, if you aim AT the enemy jet your rounds will fall short behind it, aim a little ahead to account for the travel time. Doubly So against laggy opponents. Aim where theyre going to be when the rounds arrive, not where they currently are.👍

Honestly this jet has been the best addition in terms of dogfighting because it’s balanced and makes it way more lengthy and adds depth to flying and moving around when dogfighting

Best tactic to use is stealth mode up until you’re close enough for guns if you have a incoming missile pull straight up and full throttle it out climb missiles
putther fun fact, when an oppressor or any other vehicle is shooting rockets at you just fly straight, the raiju is the fastest jet in the game and can outrun missiles, even its own, which makes this jet a formidible hit and run stealth fighter

Not sure if you've realized it yet but the Raiju has some sorta air-brake. When you nose dive and pull up, hold R1 and it does a quick air-brake-like maneuver. Helps you turn quicker.
TROLLING IDEA: I don’t know if you’ve done it already but it’s my favorite way to troll mk2s. Background: The MOC phantom takes 40 missiles to destroy with full armor. Start a securo serve and call your MOC. Use only the cab of your semi. Start the VIP work mission ‘haulage’. Use your MOC phantom to retrieve the trailer. The trailer is invisible and so are you for the most part. When you receive the trailer it will notify all players. Deliver the trailer and use sticky bombs to destroy incoming oppressors and watch them get mad and claim you’re in god mode. 😂
PUTTHER! Protip I use for fighting in jets. ALWAYS have a line of sight of the enemy, it’ll help with adjusting where they’re turning and allow you to better intercept and kill hostile jets.
