Question, I read in an article that we should not use the morning message to correct mistakes. I had always done it that way. What do you think about that? I am torn, because it is a good way to have the kids ID mistakes in their own writing, as well as showing them that we all make mistakes and its ok to correct them. After I read the article, I felt bad about my morning messages :( :(
I believe this is how a class should start to look like after 2 to 3 months of daily routines, classroom procedures and organization, and most important rules and consequences. Kids are very well acknowledged of how to behave on the carpet, how to sit properly, wait for turns and listen.

How do you make them sit still for so long, waiting for their classmates to write sentence after sentence on the board?
