I’m new to crochet how could I change it to be a different player? The player doesn’t have a beard and has a different number on his helmet

This is NOT a crochet pattern - its a KNITTING PATTERN - just don't stitch a beard ... the number is embroidered so you can embroider whatever number you want.
As for the colours, get a photo of your team and use its colours instead.
