Back in 2012 there was a moped shop up in Lexington Kentucky that was selling these, one day I stopped in to check them out and I got to looking at the sticker on the side and on every single one of the bikes they had cut the second "S" off of it to effectively censor the text lol. Don't know if the bike shop was some kind of Christian conservative owned and operated joint or something else going on but they did not want the bikes they sold to have a curse word on the side of it apparently. From what I'm told you can get the Honda 250 Chinese clone engine off of eBay for around $550 and they bolt directly in to the frame and up to the transmission(sachs just buys lifan motors and rebrands them as their own) and turns it into a 90 mph highway capable bike. Throw some fat tires on it and you would have one sick ride!
I like the madass. I got 50cc version but i got 155cc engine for it last summer for better commute. Fun little bike. And different from all other bikes.
You can adjust the Speedo. Somewhere on the underside of the speedo, there is a rubber button. With contact on, long-press it untill you see a number with a flashing digit. In thee you can change the wheel circumference, and more stuff, so you can make these adjustment. The Sensor is on the front wheel, so take that cirumference in the Speedo.
MadAss. Check. El Camino in the garage. Check. You sir have won all the awards. Seriously though thanks for putting this up. Forgot I had seen one of these in Montreal a few years back, then one pops up on FB marketplace in my area, which lead me here.
That's a cool little bike man, it definitely looks like alot of fun to ride and tinker with awesome pickup Jack , I'm curious to see if you can get that thing to hit above 75mph without swapping motors 🤘

I wanted one of those for so long. Just never saw any at a reasonable price when I could find any for sale. Ended up getting a 49cc Chinese moped and working on a 160 swap. I have little doubt that you'll end up with the biggest baddest engine that can be found in this thing one day. I dig it!
This is based heavily from honda gn5 100cc engine... The race moped bike i rode in my profile picture is one of the moped that used the similar engine... In race trim we get over 16whp while retaining 100cc engine displacement... Malaysia,indonesia,thailand and vietnam plays alot with this engine... Literally everything or anything u want to upgrade, we have it... If u want more luxurious kit, then takegawa complete engine with DOHC setup is the ultimate go to kit for this engine... If u want more budget route, then lifan engine is ok..just it left out so much potential on the table... (just relying on displacement increase and not optimized for max power)

I was given a 2009 sachs madass 125 that has been sitting for eight years. It has 320.1 miles on it and all I've done so far is do a carburetor cleaning and an oil change. To my amazement, it fired right up but won't idle. The starter solenoid only clicks and won't engage the starter but when I jump the solenoid with a wrench the starter starts the engine. Mind you, I've only worked on this bike for an hour or so and o.e.m parts are impossible to find. I'm going to need both housings that house the electrical components on the handle bars and possibly a starter solenoid. Other than that I'd be the only old guy in the whole county that has one of these very interesting bikes , if I can find the parts.

For starters. A 24mm rounslide carb is the sweetspot for the 125cc engines. 26mm is an option but it'll be super touchy and respsonsive.
