Thank you for this message. I have seen evidence of this with a couple people in my life, one of them had been more active in my life and more recently, another has said things that they imply they understand where I was coming from. Even with their remorse in mind, I have taken their reactions to heart and am trying to learn from the situations. I don't think they were completely in the wrong. I certainly have had room to grow. I am trying to be mindful of my mistakes and learn from them as best I can. I am glad that they want to fix things with me, though I don't plan on going back to the way things were very easily. I am quick to forgive, though I have learned that sometimes conflict is meant to help you more than the person lashing out. I'm just trying to be a good person and learn from my mistakes. I like praise just like everyone else, but I'd almost rather just move on and be praised for what I'm doing now rather than praised for doing better than before. Perhaps this is my folly, but I find praise like that to be somewhat condescending. It's a process, so we will see how I feel when they come to me. I will be patient for this person and remain focused on myself for now. If you're reading this, I hope this message makes you feel good. They recognize that they were wrong and want to maker it up to you. Even if you are like me, it may be worth it to let go of your pain and try to forgive them.
