Really like when people, talk about the reality of reselling. Not many people on here (resellers) talk about how difficult it can be and rarely talk about how long things sit around for. Much appreciated video. Keep on mate.
Thank you. I always try to talk about the highs and the lows. I'm really rubbish at lying about stuff like that so I just don't bother. Reselling isn't always as easy as a lot of people (on social media) make out!
Remember its a marathon not a sprint, don't worry if one week is a bad week next week may be mega Q3 is always a bit slower due to lots of holidays, Q4 will be here and gone before you know it, just keep listing and refreshing listings, and the sales will come
These are the vids i like , real talk 👏🏻 sharing the rollercoaster ride of the reselling game. Two many people shout about easy peasey reselling . Nice vid mate pleased things are picking up for you . Great guy you are 😊
Sunny summer days are never good for sales... unless you're selling ice cream! It's all about sourcing when it's like this, ready for autumn and the run-up to Christmas.
It's always a good idea to look at other income streams so with eBay, Vinted and TH-cam you're off to a good start but is there something offline that you could do that you enjoy? If you're an IT whizz, can you design an app that you would find useful for online sellers? Do you have contacts with local retailers to buy their new old stock? What outside of your eBay business makes your heart sing... and can you make money from that - wedding photographer, singer, knitter etc.??
Yonex Badminton Rackets have sold really well for me too. If i pick them up and they have the wrong case/cover i sell that separately on vinted for £8-10 normally.
@@susanlewis1953 Hi Sue - thanks for the idea but for now I’ll stick it out. Things have picked up since I made this video plus it will definitely get busier as the year goes on.
Have been on and off eBay for many years. I also work doing food delivery in Spain for Glovo which is like the Spanish version of deliveroo. Fed up with deliveries 100%. So I am looking to go into eBay full time within a year. Just a few worries. I currently sell with a free account 150 listings a month. Which I know will not generate a full time income. But in order to go full time I'm gonna need to operate outside of my spare bedroom as it's getting a bit cramped. It's my expenses I'm worried about. A small storage unit is about €80 and in order to make that I need to start a store to make up that money. As I think I would possibly need to upgrade to 2000 listings a month as 400 (beginner store) may not be enough. But it's like €50 euros so already I'm €130 down. My question to you if/when you decided to go into storage did you just go for it or plan carefully?!? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Regards. Leo.
Hi Leo - thanks for the question. When I went for the storage I tried doing the same as you but unfortunately it's not always as straight forward as that so it's difficult to work out. Sometimes you've just got to take a leap of faith to see if it works, if it doesn't work then you keep trying different ways until you run out. Then, if need be, you can always go back to being part time after that. But believe in yourself, work hard and i'm sure you'll do great. Good luck!
@@SteveSpendsaPenny Very nice of you to reply so quickly. I'm going to go for it I think!. I just like the whole thing of having independence over work. And more space at home... Lol. I may keep doing glovo part time just enough to cover any eventualities if you get me. And to cover rent of unit/fees etc....hopefully fun times ahead!!!!. Bit nervous tbh...

You are wasting you life away on reselling, it's always going be a struggle because of the model of the business, if you want to make big bucks get on amazon private label, I have been doing for 3 years now and changed my life, also gives me freedom to also enjoy life. It's not easy but that makes it high barrier to entry which it's more sustainable. Good luck in whatever you do, youtube just recommended me your video, I will subscribe to follow your journey.
@@Eddie123uk Hi Eddie - thanks for the sub! Private label isn’t something that has ever interested me to be honest as I love the recycling element of reselling and if it’s not something I enjoy doing then I just wouldn’t be engaged enough. Appreciate the advice though.

Hi Steve
With regard to your storage unit, can you claim the rental costs as expenses on your tax return/self assessment
I believe so! I haven’t done my tax return yet since I’ve had the unit but as it’s a business expense I don’t see why I can’t claim for it.
Keep listing
