    They should put floating solar panels on top like they did recently in a dam's catchment area. Reduce evaporation and get clean energy too.

    5000 acres of reservoir area should accomodate around 1000 MW of floating solar. Great work. Peninsular India needs a lot more of these man-made reservoirs. Especially in interior Karnataka, Anantapur region on Andhra Pradesh. As solar PV develops alongside desalination membrane technology, desalinated water can be pumped inland to these man-made reservoirs.

    People always talk about Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat for development! But actually people of other states need to realise the projects and missions launched by Telangana government to develop the state. Like from developing IT sector to irrigation facilities there's a lot of things to talk about Telangana growth from 2014.

Economic progress and development is the need of the hour and showcasing good examples like these will have a positive impact on people. Telangana strategy of using massive electricity to pump water so farmers can cultivate low income, water intensive crops is very risky. Given the low price rice and other cash crops fetch and the high cost of electricity to pump water, the government is going to run into heavy losses in the long term. The government must be actually moving people away from low income agriculture to better income, less water intensive jobs. Instead of doing that, it looks like the Telangana government is going the Punjab way - just depleting it’s natural resources to cultivate low income rice, wheat, sugarcane etc and committing to a business model that essentially empties the government treasury. In India 50-60% of people rely on low income agriculture , while in the US only 2% and in China only 10%. Move people away from agriculture not into it. Free power, water and all that still provide only very low income for farmers. The problem is the very small land parcels owned by 90% of farming families. No way you can make even living wages from such small land parcels. I wished the Telangana government used this money to urbanize more and move people to higher paying jobs.

      In Telangana, mostly ground water is not used as it is unsustainable for agricultural purposes....only river water is used...in seasons when there is surplus water it is pumped and stored in reservoirs... Telangana is making use of its water most optimally

      Higher paying jobs the term literally I don't understand dude. In any sector we can get high returns just considering agriculture is low income is just foolish. The government is trying to raise that bar for agriculture sector as well and it is slowly changing farmers mindset to yield other crops not just wheat. We can expect varities from Ts state.

    • @onceuponarailfan
      @onceuponarailfan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You should understand that we can't eat high paying jobs. You need rice and wheat. Your argument against 90% means 90% of agriculture production will be lost. This will make the state depend on other states for food needs. Is that what you propose?
      FYI: Not a resident of Telangana.
