Zeus is indeed a classic, and for a period of time it was my slot machine of choice, especially at the $45 Max Bet level, and this slot video showcases my Top 10 wins, although truth be told, I also won $12k but was not able to do that video, sadly!
In Zeus, the top symbol is Zeus and the wild symbol substitutes for all other symbols with the exception of the bonus symbol. Zeus is a lines-based game, where you win by landing the same symbol on a payline in two or three reels from left to right, although you need three for all symbols except for Zeus and Pegasus. Actually, Pegasus is special in that it pays when it lands on two reels only for certain high limit versions of the game, such as this one.
Where things get fun is during the bonus, which is triggered by landing 3, 4, or 5 scattered bonus symbols for 10, 25, or 100 free games! I've actually never triggered the elusive Zeus 100 free spins bonus, but have come close, as you will see! During the bonus, stacks of Wild symbols are added to help you land that Big Win or Jackpot, as you will also see!

So, is this "ATM" still in operation? What was the time frame, a year?
It is not. I was able to score probably over 100k in Jackpots, but it didn't last. Eventually the machine was "updated" and completely changed, and it swung so much in the other direction it's now gone completely. As I recall, about a year, year and a half or so. To be clear, it was almost certainly still in the casino's favor, but maybe it was set to like 98% or something. It was great while it lasted!

It is, yes! My next largest was actually 30k on a Blackjack tournament, then 16k on Pai Gow Poker, then 13k on Midnight Matinee!

You know, I can honestly say YES on this particular machine, before they changed and then removed it. I probably had over 100k of W2-Gs that year and it was awesome! And then it ended.
Hate this game at my local casino. The bonus symbols have to be on the first 3 reels. Even though it says "3 scattered to initiate bonus"
You must be playing Zeus II (Zeus 2) Where the bonus symbols do have to be on the first 3 reels to initiate the bonus. (That's the only Zeus game I know that trigger's the free games like that as of now every other Zeus game is scatter bonus symbols reels 1-5.)

Correct, that's Zeus 2! The original Zeus and all other follow-ups have scatter symbols over all reels!

Glad you like them! Certainly all Zeus aren't set equally, and this one had a great run but now it's gone. Every now and then you can find a great machine and this was one of those times. It never lasts and this didn't last, but it was a great run!

Hmmm Interesting question! To me, I don't even look at the denomination, I look at the total bet, and certainly still do higher total bet videos: I would say my ideal bet is around $10 or so. But the reality is, there aren't many high-limit machines where I'm at that I haven't played before, and I like to do new machines. And it can be really expensive! Sadly, there aren't a lot of machines that worked like this one!
