    So many people in the comments are hating on this subwoofer without ever having heard it. Many people who have heard REL subwoofers say they compete with any of the high end brands. Just saying 😅🤣

      Yeah, unfortunately people do that s**t a lot here on YT.

      Seriously, the uneducated are funny! I've been an A/V enthusiast for all my 47 years, and heard nearly all the major sub brands at shows and in other's theaters/homes/etc. I now have (2) REL 212/SX's accompanying my AV123 LS-6's; and they are far and away better than any other sub I've heard in my system or any others. These are very musical subs that do flawless acoustics at a whisper and at a sheetrock cracking volume(literally my wall has cracked along the mud line - lol!). I can only imagine the 31 and 32 do everything my 212's do, and then some. I also recently got (2) T9/x's to compliment the Polk LSIM's in my office, which are very good in that 12x15 room. Then I've had (2) REL HT1003 MK1's which honestly kinda suck, but are far better than the homemade Dayton's in my garage system, so are out there now. These 212's are my end game subwoofer, and I don't see how or why I would need more, but to hear a 31 or 32 must be a real treat.

    Damn. What’s with all the negativity in the comments? I didn’t see or hear any of them say that this was the best subwoofer no where in the title or video. Calm down people.

    Thank´s for that informativ video 💪. For me there is no way to put 2 subs in my living room and never a line array. I also own no high end speakers, only Elac Vela FS407 and 3 Centers of CC401. I have a XTZ subwoofer, which is standing in a corner, far away from the left speaker and I do not really like it. So I use the tool on REL to find the corresponfing subwoofer model but it´s not the thing I am looking for. Well the price of the REL No. 31 is really hight but I definitely like the design of it. So what do you think, is it over powered to use only one 31 by standing it under the front center? My room size is 350 sq.ft

      The no31 is a stout subwoofer and you can match it with just about anything. If youre looking for sheer output the carbon special maybe what you are after

      @@ThatHomeTheaterDude Got a No. 31 now for 70% of the price. Therefore I think it’s the best what happened to me.

    He talks about "true control" but no variable phase control, just what seems to be a 180 degree polarity switch. How is this being called "best" with no measurements, not even specs shown and no comparison?

    Whenever the banner line says "best" I don't play the video.
    I didn't play this one. I just took time to click 'thumb down.'
    I do that very rarely.

    Always funny when Hifi TH-camr call Products ,, best,, (there is no single product its always the complete Hifi Chain / all Products). The ,,best,, Sub is always the combination with DSP (Software for Correction Phase, Time Alignment, Crossover etc), Room Treatment and Placement. Than its more or less un-important if the Label says REL, SVS or if its a DIY Project like an DBA / SBA... But its like anything in the high end world, a lot of Bla Bla and a high price tag

      I think anyone who understands anything can figure out that this is Chris's opinion here. Best is an opinion label. If you do not want opinions, go read a technical manual.

      @@tkcdac but than dont write it in the Title. Why not ,,my experience with the....,, - because ,,best 12 inch for music,, is (for me) just nonsense and wrong. Only an offensive clickbait title..

    Lmao. Best subwoofer at 7 grand. A funk, jtr, psa, dss or rythmik sub will absolutely demolish this wayyy overpriced sub at the same or less price. Why would anyone buy this overpriced turd is beyond me

    • @beatcoaster
      @beatcoaster ปีที่แล้ว

      You're clearly a home theater guy that only wants brute output, and who clowns on a $7k sub but includes Funk and JTR in their list? Have fun with those slow, massive woofers when trying to listen to a subtle, quality audio mix. The closest thing I've heard acoustically is a Rythmik 12", but the REL just outshined it on music and especially at normal to low volumes where everything else needs wattage and a bit of volume before it even starts to function as expected. You should hear a demo someday with an 812/S or better, you'll eat your words...

    • @Ctripp2448
      @Ctripp2448 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@beatcoaster lmao. I should not even waste my time but I will bite. Music first for me not home theater. Calling funk and jtr slow is pure comedy. Rel drivers do not even come close. I have already heard the 812/s. All the data is out there. Google is your friend. I have already heard multiple rel and they are not in the same league. It’s not about output. It’s about low distortion, low compression and headroom. Do you even understand how compression and distortion work? Have you ever heard of group delay? That determines if a sub sounds tight. The size of the woofer has nothing to do with that. Please do your research.

    • @beatcoaster
      @beatcoaster ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Ctripp2448 I would love to see this magical pulp fiber based 18" or 21" woofer that has the same quickness and attack as a carbon 12" cone. All your "do your research" comments about distortion/headroom/delay are great, and with various filters and DSP manufacturers can make some amazing things happen - but again, every sub is graded on sheer output at a certain DB - so where does actual musicality play into it? A flat line on a chart, EQ'd to death? - nah... I used to eat and breathe all that before I did a bunch of A/B/C/+ comparisons at local shops, along with years of various get togethers at people's homes. It has only been through this time and listening that I realized the charts are great for a wang measuring DB contest or trying to increase your tinnitus while watching a movie, but when you're doing some critical listening at normal everyday volumes there is so much more that plays into it. That's beauty of A/V, to each their own and there is a ton of variety out there for everyone. I can legit say I was not gobsmacked by Wilson Chronosonics driven by a D'Agostino amp to the tune of $400k, but that's just me. I can say that my REL 212's disappeared into my LS-6's like no other sub has ever done, and dramatically improved my system to the point I'm not sure I will ever need an upgrade again - and they replaced some very highly praised 15's which sure looked amazing on a chart.

    Once you get to a certain audio level the rest starts to become snake oil.
