Just a few weeks ago a guy killed his friend and lied about it by giving the typical American story of "2 black men" but a year or so later confessed to killing his friend by "accident" guess how many years he got in prison?! 2 lousy years and he will be out in less than a year. I think he must have anti social personality traits and he was triggered when she decided to leave him. He was angry and thinking "nobody leaves me". That's always the case when a woman decides to leave a toxic man and he kills her. We see it over and over and over again. He didn't love her, he wanted to have control over her and he thought that need to possess was "love". He seems particularly dangerous because they had only dated 3 months and were so young. Most of these types of domestic violence murders happen with much older people and much longer relationships. Women are not safe if he is released.

OK. Ellie is totally not at fault for anything that happened to her and the dude is clearly the villain here.
17:50 If there is one thing that she could've done better, it was the break up. You don't break up with someone via text. In fact, unless there is very obvious danger (even then, maybe bring a friend to hang back, but within earshot), you should always break up with someone in person. It's the classy thing to do. This way he could've seen her face and known she was serious and also couldn't make excuses in his head like, "maybe someone else is using her phone and this is a wind up". Most importantly it gives him the chance to respond and ask any questions he has there and then.
She was young and perhaps hadn't learned this social grace yet. But I find that with increased methods of socializing at a distance a lot of these courtesies are being forgotten.
RIP Ellie. You were a beautiful soul with so much to give this world.

He won't be able to have any male friendships either because once they find out what he did they're going to dump him as a friend because his crime was so heinous and cruel. He will most likely fall into a life of drugs and alcohol and probably commit other crimes and will go to an adult prison.
I mean how would you as a normal young female react to finding out that the guy you're dating viciously murdered his young girlfriend and only served 12.5 years in prison? ONLY 12.5 years?!! Who would want someone like that sleeping in the same bed with them? What male friend would want to introduce him to their friends saying, "Oh yeah. Everyone has fallen short of the glory of God so evil and wickedness will increase and the hearts will harden, apethy, love will grow cold. The gospel of the Kingdom will be preached as testimony to All Nations and then the end will come . That's a ridiculous statement. First of all, in the video it states he was from a good family, and we can see Ellie came from a wonderful family. I'll also point out that the video details that his mother was a primary teacher and apparently, she was home from work around 11am because he had to hide in a closet, so she didn't see him ditching school, and then he stole her car. So, it's not like she was never home. And Ellie's dad came home at 3pm. Clearly these parents are more available to their teenagers than most families. And we can't know whether or not a parent stayed home with them when they were toddlers up until primary age because a lot of families have one parent stay home until the kids get to high school and are of driving age (which Ellie and her murderer were) and only then do both parents go to work. No, all the blame should be placed on the killer. Not his parents, not her parents, not Ellie, not her friends, not his friends, not the school, just him and only him.

Teenagers are not children. The last time the Christian Anglo-Saxon culture was emotionally well and properly laid out because of technology was over 1000 years ago! Adulthood for a male was 12 years old! Even just going back to right before the Internet & Mobile Phones and have it never happen, would be a huge improvement.

He was A CHILD. Im not in any way condoning his actions, but it was a crime of passion. He’d never suffered a heartfelt loss before. He never was in trouble before. Twelve years is a harsh sentence to a child. It would feel like forever to him.
He went to prison instead of Juvie. He could have been convicted as a child, and released when he was eighteen.
They should be counting their blessings.

@@Hope44903quite the opposite nowadays, they would be let go with minimal sentence. In my city we have actual murderers walking around because the DA and Mayor are black.
