    Slick Rig, Camp Boss! Well done. We have a 2023 6' flatbed Hawk on an 8' F250 SuperCab as well (a silver '99 7.3L Power Stroke & same color Woolrich Edition Hawk on the Norwald tray, but with a left side garage box & a right side spare mount) Dig what you did with the space on the roof of Mad Maxine. We need the upTOP Overland or fab similar for sure! Much better mount for the WeBoost than anywhere on the popup & bringing the traction recovery boards up front would free up our rear utility rack too. Totally agree on some day deleting the rear seat & adding a Goose-Gear or similar slide-out, lockable storage with utility worktop. But I'm paying particular attention to your rear frame cover plate above the tow hitch for the current modification on ours. I've been laying out a similar rear cover cap bolted to the bumper mounting holes at the end of the frame rails to remount our trailer plugs, backup camera, & airbag Schrader valves. Moving the spare up behind the cab means there's freed up space for more kit or fluid storage so a hatch there may likely be in the works as well (the Norweld mounts the license plate on the pull out tray) We're also fabricating an under-tray length ABS gray water tank plumbed along side the Norwald's 43L water tank. Nice touch parking Mad Maxine's custom graphic in the Hawk's trim band and kudos on your Camp Boss logo (Ours is The Notorious RIG 2.0) We're in Northern Nevada. See you out there. It won't be us with the runs!💩

      Thanks for the comments. The rear plate was part of the Bowen scope. It really cleans things up. I'm on track to be full time come 2024 and will be hitting a lot of the west so I'll be sure to look yo guys up.

      @@uncledougiecampboss8382 Will keep an eye out for you, Camp Boss! As an update, the rear frame cover plate has expanded now that we moved the spare to the passenger side behind the cab next to the our "Ford Garage" on the driver side. With he extra space we'll be mounting a rear wench with it's tow line port at center joining trailer hook-ups, airbag schrader valve stems, and rear view camera. It's become a busy bit of kit!

    Great looking rig. I like the metal plate you have to cover the spare tire - the one your license plate is mounted to. I assume that plate is custom made? Where did you get it from if I may ask? Or are you able to share the measurements if you have them? I am getting a flatbed installed to my 2022 F250 next month and that looks slick.

    Thanks.

  • @1smokan
    @1smokan 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Great setup! Did your truck come with the 6.75' bed, the flat bed looks 6.5' foot plus the garage makes it look like a long bed truck.

    • @uncledougiecampboss8382
      @uncledougiecampboss8382  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks! Yep, it was a standard bed (6-foot something) so with the garage I’m the same length as a long bed.

  • @sebastienbarre

    I'm curious. How did you get the heated and ventilated seats on an XLT? I see them being default on the Lariat, but on the XLT, heated seats seem to be only on the $4,150 (!!) XLT Premium Package, which itself requires the Sports Apperance Package (why?) *and* the 360 Degree Camera package (why?) for a whopping additional $6,900. Just for heated seats, not even ventilated. Crazy to me.

    • @uncledougiecampboss8382
      @uncledougiecampboss8382  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree with the costs. I actually DON’T have heated seats. They are manual in all aspects. My only big spend interior wise was center console at $900. I bare bones where I could and got out the door for $52K. Most importantly i stated numerous times, “No Dealer Add Ons”

      @@uncledougiecampboss8382 very cool. Do you feel like you need to about balancing the weight forward and s aft since the truck has been extended from stock?

    • @uncledougiecampboss8382
      @uncledougiecampboss8382  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No. All of the camper items that are heavy (water tank, batteries, water heater) sit in front of the axel. Everything in the camper behind the door is pretty light.

    Hi there, we're looking into doing a similar build (except a norweld tray) and are wondering if you did the suspension work because it was necessary for payload capacity or if it was more for off roading capabilities? Looking at getting a stock f250 xl or xlt but are unsure what if any suspension work we would need to do just to drive safely because from what we've seen online it looks like this trucks have rear leaf springs and a payload in the 6,000lbs range if not mistaken? Hoping to be minimal at first and then maybe add additional cool things like a front bumper or more suspension work in the future. Would love to hear any info you can provide, thank you!

    • @uncledougiecampboss8382
      @uncledougiecampboss8382  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the question. SORRY for the delayed response. Yes, I added a Carli Mountaineer 2.5”/3.5” leveling kit. It helped but don’t do too much until you are completely built. It’s important to know your total weight first before you add to much to the suspension. After 12 months I did a leaf spring (Yuen up) which was dramatically cheaper than getting a whole new set of leaf springs.

    Hey Doug is the truck a long bed? Trying to figure out how you got a garage in there with the truck camper. Thanks

    • @uncledougiecampboss8382
      @uncledougiecampboss8382  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It was a 6.5-ft bed. When I added the "forward garage" it basically made the bed length a "long bed" BUT Bowen Customs checked with Ford and they were OK with the 18" shift back. Most if not ALL of my heavy items (water, propane, fuel, batteries) are still all forward of the rear axle. Hope that answers your question.
