Indian audience didn't like it, not because there was no item song or action. But because of bad script or story. Everyone appreciated the hard work, but when audience can not connect themselves with the story then all hard work become zero.

Every movie takes it's own hard work. I won't talk about money they invest.. In one movie more than 600 people get jobs. But critics watch the movie on the 1st show and rate it as failure. This is so impractical..

After seeing so much of negativity I’ve decided to put my thoughts on Zero plot. *SPOILERS*
1. A 10th fail is sent to Mars
Ans- Yes, even a Dog called ‘Laika’ was sent to space and you’re talking about a human!
2. How does Bauaa Singh stay in space for 15 years without food.
Ans - He doesn’t STAY. He goes in cryogenic sleep!
3. Bauaa Singh isn’t like other dwarves. He’s too filmy
Ans - So, a dwarf shouldn’t be happy? A dwarf shouldn’t live a normal life? A dwarf shouldn’t fall in love? They’re humans. Best thing about zero was they didn’t make rona dhona about being dwarf.
And one note - Bauaa Singh isn’t actually a dwarf. He’s just short in height. 4ft6in
4. How did bauaa Singh get so much of money?
Ans - Bauaa Singh was rich af. From the first scene itself you get an idea about his financial status, he throws money everywhere, wastes 6Lacks for a song. Only if you had observed these things you wouldn’t have called him poor just because he is a small towner.
Zero is a dreamy film that celebrates incompleteness, tells you how to treat the disabled people normally. You might have not liked the film but calling it the worst film of the is nothing but plain stupidity. Thanks to the few critics and social media, a really good light hearted film is being killed for silly reasons. Give a chance to this film without any notions, you will have a wide smile on your face when this film ends.

I really feel what went wrong with the zero was marketing strategy.. Like they should have released the making before its release ..same like Amir Khan did with TOH when trailer got negative response he immediately released TOH making and the Zeros trailer could have been much better...like instead of focusing on love story in the trailer. I'm quiet optimistic about its China's collection.

it's soo sad, lots of hard work couldn't get any appreciation, kaash movie me thodi aur strong plot and achha screenplay hua hota then it could have been a gem.
Zero wasn't a bad film at all. It hadn't bad story either. The VFX & story was made on Hollywood level even beyond and both SRK & ALR had amazing vision. It's just that they could explain more things especially in the 2nd half. Many people thought science was illogical. It wasn't! I've made enough research to tell you that everything was logical. Lack of experience to narrate the sci-fi part, this was their mistake. People with knowledge will understand. People who look for fantasy won't even care they don't understand. But most of the people will just watch it and will make no effort to search is it true or not. This is one of the most unique stories one has ever heard but it's one thing when you have the story on paper and other thing when you narrate story on screen. You should ask yourself one question. How Hollywood makes sci-fi sometimes illogical and they get away with it every time? I know ALR & Himanshu intentions were good but they should have made more research on how this part should have been done right, especially if you show it to an audience who don't have knowledge of science. That's why this movie failed to connect with most of the people. I will say one thing SRK,ALR,Himanshu,RCE team never stop doing such wonderful attempts. I know you are too new to such kind of stuff hence some mistakes have been done but the fact that you're trying to bring Indian cinema to such higher levels is amazing by itself. One day your attempts will be appreciated! Kudos to the whole team for the amazing experience they gave us.
Aamir had released his own transformation video, video of girls training for wrestling and other such videos showing challenges before releasing Dangal. I think it really added to the curiosity about the film. This video would've added a lot towards the excitement of the movie had it been released before the release of the movie. Poor planning. So sad all this hard work wasn't appreciated.

It's so obvious why he has taken such a long break after Zero's failure. But i believe he'll come bak much stronger and with proper script lineups.
Don't know about proper script but his recent film PATHAAN brought a storm, making his roaring comeback to Bollywood. It felt like a personal victory after how some idiots were into boycott culture. SRK's Pathaan brutally killed off the boycott gang of public.
Also, it was more special considering that his son Aryan was put into false accusations for drugs case. Srk kept calm, didn't give up and finally managed to save his son. He always had got support and love from public, and will always keep getting it. THE KING OF BOLLYWOOD. ONE AND ONLY SRK.

What an art of working. Shahrukh Khan and His team work so so hard. Big salute because director of movie wants to do VFX from Hollywood company but SRK said no, we can make india proud by doing in our country so he does lots of effort to raise level of india. I don't know why this film got negative reviews, i really liked the film.
There was nothing at all wrong with this film except the trailer for it didn't properly depict what it was so people didn't get what they were expecting from having seen the trailer. It was always a space movie...the trailer only showed the space connection at the very end. People thought it was going to be a deep film about how SRK, Anushka and Katrina all handled their various short comings, so they expected something deeper. It was really a film for family entertainment, not some deep work. It's depth was in the amazing and difficult VFX work, but it was still an entertaining movie...funny, witty, charming, love story about people who are living lives with various kinds of difficulties to overcome. I loved the film.

The VFX in this film is i think one of the best...so much hardwork-for 1 scene they have to take 5 shots and after taking that also merge these scenes on their computers using high technology VFX and make 1 perfect scene to show the audience in film...very sad that this didnt work well at the box office

What was wrong with the story lines and scripts of Fan and Zero? I thought both of them were brilliant. Fan showed us something that we here in the west are not familiar with...total obsession of a fan for a star. The ugly turn it took is typical of what happens when people meet people they are obsessed with and discover them to be more than ordinary people who don't live up to their expectations. Sometimes, those kinds of things even end in the star being attacked. Zero was strictly entertainment...a fantasy romance that was packed full of wit and charm with only the slightest message of how love can change a person. It wasn't meant to be taken all seriously or to be deep. It was meant only for the view to enjoy and marvel at the work done to make it look so beautiful.
I find this movie fantastic. Its overseas collection is 2 time more than domestic collection I don't why people are not watching this movie although it is family entertainment.

People just keep on harping about Amir Khan being a perfectionist and stuff. Amir no doubt is a good actor but when it comes to passion, working hard and giving everything to the film, no one is even close to SRK. He not only brought state of the art technology to Indian filmmaking but was fantastic as Bauua. Loved his performance to the moon and back. I wish this movie had done well at the box office. It so deserved to make the money. But, it's alright. Things will be fine soon. More power to you, Shahrukh! God bless!
