“Had trouble with Georgia’s press coverage”

DeVonta Smith vs Miss St. 11 catches for 203 and 4TDs.
Texas A&M did a good job holding him to 6 catches for 63 Yards and a TD. But if that’s a bad game I’ll take it.

@@AlexRollinsNFL I get that. PFF has DeVonta Smith as the top rated WR vs press coverage (score of 94.0). So, depending on how you view PFF, he does well against a majority of press. Can you find instances here and there? Probably (probably can for any WR) but the only pass catcher to rank higher vs. press was 6’6 240lb Kyle Pitts (97.0).

Speed isn't just smith game he can separate in the middle of his route, he can adjust if the qbs throws a bad ball and have the toughness to go up and get a contested ball. Waddle has speed but speed doesn't only do it in the NFL. There are many speedster and track stars and they all don't translate if the can't run the route tree. It's a fact that Herbert was a mess coming out of Oregon, it's also a fact that he had a great rookie year, but to act like everyone had him penciled in as the ROY or QB1 at the start of the year is stupid AF, since literally nobody was saying this.
If you need ANOTHER highlights video about your QB to make you feel good then make it yourself lmao. They're not making content to appeal to one fanbase, and a video about that would literally just be a chargers and ducks fan circle jerk that teaches nothing to most of their viewers. Herbert was a completely different qb that clearly shows that Oregon is a mess at developing qbs. During Hard Knocks Herbert didn’t even continue though his reads during practice which for qbs past the high school level is practically day 1 stuff. Every thing on tape was an inconsistent mess, the hidden mysteries of situations and behind the curtain info is what makes 20% of scouting a guessing game. Cause you can be a great scout and be right 80% of the time but for every Mahomes you get right there’s always a Justin Gilbert, Herbert, Isaiah Wilson (who was over drafted, but no one expected him to not care about football). Zay Jones had the most production in CFB ever and had smooth routes and Dorial green Beckham and Justin Blackman were unstoppable at college it didn’t change the fact that they were WR4’s in the pros on any given day. For every 10 Herbert prospects you draft you are gonna end up with 9 or 10 Trubisky’s most qbs that ineffective at college will be out of the league in 4 years not winning ROTY. Small sample size makes anyone stupid. Just cause the civil war was a positive for society doesn’t mean all war is.

In my opinion he is the best receiver in the draft his route running is excellent he has good speed and hands also good after the catch big corners in press may affect him but coaches know how to get the ball to their playmakers and his weaknesses are an easy fix put 15-20 pounds on him and weight about 185-190 pounds with his route running and speed big corners won’t be a problem for him at all
