About Motherland:
Set in an alternate America where witches ended their persecution over 300 years ago by cutting a deal with the government to fight for their country, “Motherland: Fort Salem” follows three young women from basic training in combat magic into early deployment. This Pilot Episode was great.
Hopefully more people will give it a chance and let the story develop throughout the season instead of overanalyzing it & complaining.

well, they were using Seed #32, the seed of reversal. what they created was a maelstrom, most likely the 3 of them were powerful enough to reverse time and space itself hence Anacostia and the other witches needed to use the Nullification seed on it.

I kept thinking that Raelle was doing that on her own towards the end because it looked like Tally and Abby were distracted or had stopped (not that i blame them...the damn tuning fork was deteriorating). Can't wait for season 2 to explore just what the f is going on with her.

It was all three of them, but Raelle was certainly charged up.
The greatest shame is that it has been cancelled after only three series. This took the witch story in a different direction compared to those that came before it and that is refreshing.
This was a great show and I even wish there was more to see, but it was renewed for it's final 3rd season, it wasn't cancelled they came to end who knows maybe if we're lucky one day the writers might be able to create a spin-off or even a continuation many years later and we see the children of Raelle, Abigail and Tally and so much more.
Also before you say how could Raelle have children let me remind you that Abigail has three fathers, so there's clearly a way for conception to be possible in non-tradtional relationships.
Anacostia is like "the f*ck it's too early in the morning for this" lol
This is an amazing show, I recommend to watch it if you have any free time, which thanks to quarantine we have, so, I recommend watching this show😊

Motherland: Fort Salem... first and foremost to the naysayers that have made the comments here that hire talking about the tarnishing of the Bellwether brand or the Bellwether rolled in American history I absolutely disagree I think that based on what I've seen from the series so far and I have actually had an opportunity to preview episode of this forward based on the fact that I have an in I promise you that if you think that this serious is doll or isn't good so far you're not watching the same series I'm watching. I am a very hard critic of things that have to do with American history as well as things that have to do with witches warlocks or anything that has to do with witchcraft in general because I think that TV doesn't do it justice. However this show gives a great deal of understanding and conceptual understanding to what being a witch is or what being a warlock is because there is much more to being just a witch for being a part of Witchcraft in general. I think this takes a great dive into family history and genetic passage of powers as well as it gives a great Twist on what witches can or will be used as genetic passage of powers as well as it gives a great Twist on American history as we know it. I would say that if people give the show time to develop because that's what every show needs especially a show that is an intricate as this one then you will see that this could stand up right next to X-Men or any other show that takes special effects to another level. Don't believe the downplay of the show so far please go back and download the free-form app and watch every episode and look at character development and how they're making it work. Give the show a chance to to develop and to take off and I promise you you will not be disappointed.

It is not the unit that masters a seed song. It is their combination of seeds that causes this to happen. Caller was the only one told that the seeds she was using is a beast to master and to keep it up. It took 5 long term trained witches to stop that working thus also showing it was their combined seeds that was so powerful, during the episode. Even more so in the second episode
A seed is made of multiple sounds, so the unit is producing a single seed I can't say if this was a "mastered" moment or not because we don't get to know what the seed does when used correctly, this could easily be the three together are powerful enough to cause it to go the way it did, because we see in a different scene when Abigail and Raelle fight they create an thunderstorm which was having an imapct both outside and inside the building.
@@W0rkf4rt A "song" and a "seed" are different thing. A seed is individual and song is a harmony of more than one. There is a reason Alder asked Khalida to teacher their peoples songs as opposed to their seeds.
There is a reason Caller was praised with "that seed is a beast to master". It is the combination of the seeds that the witches can perform that decides the power of a working. After for alders longevity it too miltiple witches performing a working for it to happen.
@@Dermacrosis Yes i know that, this is referred to as a seed, what i'm curious about, is what happens supposed to be the way the seed goes then if so then yes they mastered it, or did something go wrong because the three of them are powerful together. i also referred to the scene when Abigal and Raelle fought they were causing a massive thunder storm and that was just a fight no seeds or anything which shows that both of them are powerful on their own if that was what they could do just as the two of them.

In the UK this is just called "Fort Salem" it is because we already had a series here called "Motherland". It is the same reason in the 80s the Aussie series Prisoner was called "Prisoner: Cell Block H", because we already ha the series "Prisoner".

Basically, they're witches because they use their music in a way like spells. With each "seed" they produce a spell is created. Their voices are their weapon, like it would be with modern media, and overused witches

As someone who has SD meaning I can't get to a higher register, I had to laugh watching this scene. I'd fail big time!.Maybe interested in all things spooky though but I'd get an "F" for fail if I attempted this...probably wouldn't be able to talk again either!. Started to watch this series..it's interesting but not as good or on a par as "Supernatural".

What the hell is this show. I’m so confused and intrigued. What was the point of that
This series is going to humiliate the Bellweather bloodline. I can already see the writing on the wall. Because they have to elevate the characters around her (especially Raelle Collar who by the way is the main character) . And they will accomplish this task by denigrating the Bellweather bloodline. They have already insinuated that Abigail's mom sends her troops to their deaths. Just so that she can elevate her status and prestige. They are going to state that the Collars are essentially the most important bloodline. And the writers have started the process with the pendent passed down the bloodline. General Adler even speaks of the Collar ancestor before she blatantly dismisses Abigail Bellweather. She said that the Collar ancestor was disadvantaged. As if being a slave was an advantageous position. And when they mentioned the slave word it was as if it was a position of power and arrogance😂.
Yea, and theres an upcoming episode in which a wedding occurs and the bellweather bride is killed in a bathtub. I was looking forward to this show but now not so much
@@iParawhoran I know what you mean. I too was hoping to enjoy the show. But everything is leading up to something weird. Every character of African Decent seems to be aggressive and antagonizing. The nurse that was with the Collar girl was portrayed as annoying/aggressive. The sergeant is aggressive maybe with a just cause but nonetheless aggressive. The evil character is represented as cool and a little bit cheeky (or perhaps a little bit rebellious).

I have a theory that since this story was an alternate version of america, maybe the patriarchy was not just the only thing that was reversed.. could it be that racial profiling was somehow affected?! (since the black witches were rendered powerful and thus, elite bloodlines) Maybe due to all those advantages, in due progressions, the black women in the show's alternate reality are as entitled and privileged as a white man in our world. I mean the way Abigail reacted on the rooftop before going to the academy was a total douchebag, fratboy move!
I’m giving it time and I’m begging that the shows writing does better than what you suggested cause a concept like this is to unique to be done again also what exactly was the seeded supposed to do I get they were suppose to practice working as a unit but what did the seed cause exactly
justin dixon I understand what u mean to say but racial inequality probably still exist as the Belleweather mother said she wanted better for her daughter as they come from slaves and that she is black , telling her that she still has to work harder than anyone else. I think there whole entire unite is uniquely powerful and that’s why they are able to create that seed.

Dude shut up. The show just started not too long ago and you’re already giving it bad critics. Let the story develop first and maybe it’ll get better for you, if it’s already that bad from just being 4 episodes in then you don’t need to be watching it or here in the comments being soo negative. It’s alright to show your opinion on the show but the way you’re being is just completely aids, so what you’re saying about the show after it just started awhile ago is just stupid.
