    Where can you find radiators like the one you have for purchase?

    I believe that at high frequencies the current flows mostly in the outer skin of the copper coils so the thin walled tubing should be fine. Having said that I've already popped a hole in one by touching it with a piece of hot steel so maybe the thicker tube is a better option after all!

    Looking for a circuit diagram / schematic for a Chinese built 15KW30-100KHZ version of this style of heater. I'm an Electronics Tech, but have not worked with induction heaters so any service info would be appreciated.

    Hi Nigel, thank you for your videos, helps me to understand these machines. I bought a 15kw induction heater from china but it only worked for a couple of heats and then would not heat,there are no alarms going off but just won't heat.The company i purchased from i think know about as much as I do and that is bugger all.After watching your video maybe it is because I possibly have a air lock at the coil. Do you think that could be a problem? Cheers Shane

      hi Shane what does it read on the front panel when you try to start it .if there is no power check the trip switch on the back .what size is the coil it should be about 1mt long for a 16-1 machine and 2mt for a 16-2 sometimes they send the wrong coils in the box and the machine will not switch to high frequency and just heats on low frequency ..high =620 and low= 205up this tells you you have wrong coils .

      Thanks Nigel, it doesn't show any readings on the panel and it doesn't make the beeping sound as your machine does when it is heating, I am not at home at the moment but the coil is very short no where near a metre long. It worked for a couple of heats then wouldn't heat. Cheers Shane

      Sorry, the time panel goes to 1 then stops and the power panel doesn't read anything except three 000,cheers

      @@shanebeard5769 hi Shane there are small fuses inside the machine normally they give you spare ones .

    Dear Nigel, I was sent to fix an induction sealing machine ,but the unit sometimes works (heats )and other times it does not, .In other words, it is intermittent functioning.. the technician used thread tape to seal the induction coil to stop the coolant water leaks. Could that be the source of the problem of intermittent functions?

    • @NigelBarnettArtistBlacksmith
      @NigelBarnettArtistBlacksmith  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      hi yes what you are doing is insulating the induction flow .you need a good clean contact on all coil surface contacts or they will get hot the same way a dirty earth clamp does on a welder .undo it and see if you can see any signs of sparking.

      @@NigelBarnettArtistBlacksmith Thanks very much Nigel I will try that, I had checked all the power control H Bridge mosfet driver cards and the microcontroller board all those checked fine. I swapped them and put them in a sister machine and they worked well. But putting them in the induction sealer under test ,all functions were intermittent, I thought I may change the electrolytic reservoir capacitors at the H bridge Mosfet side. as I had not changed those. Thanks very much for your advice.

    Thanks Nigel for the very informative video. So for a 15kW system a low loss header system and bog standard Tig cooler would be sufficient?

    Thank you. What do you use for coolant? Also are your manifolds normally used for Pex pipe. Thank you.

    • @NigelBarnettArtistBlacksmith
      @NigelBarnettArtistBlacksmith  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hi we have our own coolant made that has a low ph and anti inhibitor as well as anti freeze .it will not freeze and has a much higher heat transfer rate than any other coolant ..i also use braded pipe steel radiators are ok to use if you use our coolant as they will not rust but i would not just use water as the machines have alloy parts in them too and these can fur up if ph goes up above 9 .on the really big machines the pipes are much bigger so not so many problems if you get any build up or dirt in the coolant .

    I'm using a 15kw to heat sheet metal and it just started making a whining sound. It gets worse and louder as you turn up the power. Any suggestions?

      hi John sounds like you have a vibration on the main windings .have a look and see if any insulation packers have came out .
