I've read in Father Amorth's book that a man was successfully exorcised by some Protestants, and this kind of perplexed Father Amorth, eventually realizing that there is power in the name of Christ outside the Catholic Church.

The way my luck sometimes runs, I can imagine an extra terrestrial approaching me, asking to come to Church with me and the poor priest dying between consecrating the wafer and the wine.........
The question of whether a protestant exorcism is valid perhaps best tested by observing the 'fruit' of the exorcism. I knew an Anglican minister who carried out an exorcism which certainly seemed to work, the previous problems ceased to manifest.

The first thing that comes to mind is Jesus telling The Apostles about the future "many shall come in my name and perform miracles....." (Paraphrased it)
    Don't shoot the messenger.

    • @ThatGuy-nr5sp

The first thing that comes to my mind is .
      Mark 9:38-40
38 John said to him, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we tried to stop him, because he was not following us.” 39 But Jesus said, “Do not stop him, for no one who does a mighty work in my name will be able soon afterward to speak evil of me. 40 For the one who is not against us is for us.
I think it’s kinda strange that the Catholic Church does ever consider this verse. Now don’t get me wrong I’m sure there are many fakes out there. My point is that from this verse ,the power to do this is from Jesus in the name of Jesus ,not the Catholic Church. So you don’t have to be catholic or part of the Catholic Church to cast out demons. These people in the verse weren’t.
Im sure this applies to other things.

@ThatGuy-nr5sp Without a doubt, any shall come in His name and perform wonders.
      However, shall He knows them?
      (As per His own words).
I'll give an example from my personal experiences:
A grunt that follows his orders to the best of his ability is maybe not noticed, but he follows orders handed down by the chain of command.
A soldier that disregards his orders or neglects them or rejects the chain of command, even if he does a heroic act in the course of battle, is not a reliable soldier, in fact, he deserves to be reprimanded or even court marshalled (depending on the severity of the CRIME).
To make my point crystal clear, I shall quote one line from a very well known song among believers:
      "Onward Christian soldiers..."
How I wish that my communication skills were better, but this is maybe the best I can do with my limited abilities and vocab.
Yet, I and everyone should take note of your citation from The Holy Bible, as it is made clear what we as Christian soldiers are to do and that the judgement is for the King and those He names to ensure Justice is served. It is not for us to Judge. "No casting the first stone" often comes to mind, even though many feel that anything said that they don't want to hear is a load of boulders hurled at them.
Guess they are lucky enough never to have had constant shelling as a form of adrenaline and urine boosting rush!

In discussing "The Creature from the Black Lagoon" movies, there was also the homage film, "The Shape of Water" (2017). That film, directed by Guillermo del Toro, won Best Picture that year. del Toro said that he loved the old "Creature" movies and wanted to make a film in which the creature, who is sadly the last of his kind, is able to win the girl's heart. He is presented almost as another species of human. (As a warning, it does contain some content that is not suitable for children.)

I personally think that getting your children to do all the sacrament rites of initiation at the same time is a mistake as it is a journey and a process of learning. Thanks to the Priests that catechized me in order to be ready for each of the sacraments I've been able to retain their teachings as it wasn't all at once.
It was a process of many many weeks or months can't really remember it was a long time ago. I was about 13 when I finished being catechized by the priests and the rite of confirmation is a nice way to show that you are now an adult of the church who is responsible for their own salvation.

Preferably as soon as they learn to comprehend the invitation, @@frenchtoast2319 -- when we teach our children to invite Jesus into their hearts, He has their permission and desire for Jesus to reveal Himself to them, and to prepare them for a lifetime of service to the Gospel. That doesn't mean some of the children won't be drawn to the world and into error, though. As they grow up, they may forget their innocent faith. But it's never too late as long as one is alive. THE TEMPEST - Lili
It gives you comfort just to think that God is by your side
To help you with your petty wants, you only have to pray
Everything given or denied, it’s part of his great plan
But what of when your world falls down, loss of home and pride
Nature is a cruel beast, she arrives to ruin and flay
She doesn’t care, she doesn’t think, of Gods, of love or man. -
The cruel sea, the skies and wind all dark with careless hate
Your home picked up and flung aside, the air fulfilled with death
Is this the plan he had for you? You still think he is great
Perhaps you think that he is kind for sparing most his flock
A score of reasons to excuse, indifference, sin or fate
It’s still the same, your world is gone, your hopes and prayers a mock. -
And as you stare into the sky and bend your knees in thanks
Your neighbor’s dead, your town a wreck, what thanks is due to him?
Who made your life a misery, no future left for you
You’re leaving now, your fate unknown a victim of his whim
You’ll join the mass of those he’s scorned, the lost the faithful too
Perhaps this trial will make you think, this God cannot be true. -
If he is love then what’s this hate, inflicted on mankind
It’s not just here, it’s everywhere, Infidel and faithful alike
He doesn’t care, he strikes us all, and we’re supposed to find
The meaning of the tragedy, the reason of the plan
Be grateful for the mercy, mercy no one sees, mercy undefined
The game he’s played with human pawns, the game he’s played with man. -
The great Khayyam wrote of the game, a checkerboard of lies
He knows the fate of everyone and watches from above
And you may lift your hands to him, expectant of his love
He only cares about the game, the players live or die
And if you die that is the cost of being in the game
A player faithful might be spared, the wanting to the flames.

Catholic exorcists cast out demons in the name of Jesus in persona of Christ. Jesus wasn’t Protestant or catholic that’s right he was Jewish. Anyone today who is a follower of Christ could possibly exorcise a possessed person, yet Jesus founded one church of which Protestants are indirectly members of whether they profess to be or protest to be. Catholic means 1 universal church, Jesus is 1 universal lord who insituted the universal church for all believers to be saved, and so the priesthood has a certain authority. I assume you are saying catholicsm and Jesus are distinct, I believe they cannot be separated today. May god bless you and protect you from lies of our enemy, the evil one. In fact in the catechism they have removed the second commandment and split the tenth in order justify idolatry! This is blasphemy of the highest order! You may want to reconsider you choice of religion and start obey Jesus and the Bible instead of the church and it’s traditions!

Jimmy Akin, unlike the Catholic exorcist, the Christian way of casting outd dmons, is the Biblical way. Christians have the gifts of the Spirit, and three of those gifts are the revelation gifts. The word of Wisdom. The word of Knowledge and The Discerning of spirits. Jimmy Akin didn't mention one of them.

    • @cw-on-yt
      @cw-on-yt 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

He mentioned them implicitly. The gifts you mentioned are found among all Christians, both Catholic Christians and other kinds. The term "Christians" is a set or category which includes Catholics (the largest group of Christians), plus various kinds of Orthodox Christians (Eastern, Oriental, etc.), plus various kinds of Protestant Christians (Lutheran, Anglican, Methodist, Presbyterian, and so on). The term "Christian" is conventionally used of all those groups because they share common valid (Trinitarian) baptism. (There are some minor exceptions in some Protestant groups that have altered the baptismal formula, but these are small splinter sects.)
The Christians whose traditions include formalized rites for exorcism will talk about the various gifts, including Discernment, when asked directly about them. But those gifts are exercised invisibly, for the most part; and exorcism is only one of many contexts in which they might be exercised.
So it's only natural that when you ask a Catholic about exorcism, specifically, he tends to answer specifically about the rite, rather than detouring into a topic about the gifts.

Here is something to think about; Catholic exorcism, protects the victim that experience demonic behavior and violence by not being video taped or done in public. Protestant “exorcism” is in front of people, to glorify themselves instead of protecting the victim.
Can you imagine, let’s just say that you’re possessed. Some man, Protestant, came come in with video cameras and does an exorcism. Then one day, you look at it and see the beating you take from getting the demon or demons out. You wouldn’t want to show people that… but the man preforming it, does it for him. Can you imagine how small you would feel, knowing that person did it for their gratification instead of glory of God?
Matthew 7:21-23. “Not every one who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers.’”
As you’re probably going to send me a Bible verse that defends your position. Remember; there were other book that were rejected, not banned, from the Bible from New Testament has the same books from the 4th century, and the 19th century. It’s come down to interpretation, which the book of Peter (2 Peter 19-21) prohibits one’s own interpretations because no prophecy’s ever comes from man but men moved from the Holy Spirit.
That begs the question, which interpretations is correct? The denominations that have been around for 500 years, or the ONE that has been around for 2000 years.

      "CHALLENGE
“The Catholic Church is the whore of Babylon.”
      DEFENSE
The whore of Babylon is described in detail in Revelation 16:19-19:4.
Babylon was a city in ancient Mesopotamia (modern Iraq), but scholars recognize the use of “Babylon” in Revelation as a symbolic designa- tion of another city (cf. 11:8; also cf. 1 Peter 5:13, where Peter, who is known to have been in Rome, refers to being in “Babylon”):
The whore is depicted persecuting Christians (cf. 17:6, 14).
She is seated on a beast with seven heads, which are identified as seven hills (17:9) and seven kings (17:10).
The beast also has ten horns, which hate the whore, attack her, and burn her with fire (17:16).
The whore is said to be “the great city which has dominion over the kings of the earth” (17:18).Most scholars see these as pointing to the ancient, pagan city of Rome, which persecuted Christians, which was built on seven hills, which had a line of emperors plausibly identified with the beast (see Day 203), and which was the capitol of the major empire of the day.
Some scholars have seen the clues as pointing to another city-Jerusalem-which also persecuted Christians in the first century, whose authorities were allied with and supported by the Roman empire (and thus “seated” on the beast), and which was attacked and burned by an alliance of Roman and other troops in A.D. 70, as Jesus predicted (Mark 13). Further, Revelation 11:8 speaks of “the great city” where the “Lord was crucified,” the Old Testament speaks of Jerusalem as a whore (Isa. 1:21; Ezek. 16:1, 15-35), and the whore is the antithesis of the bride of Christ, the “New Jerusalem” (Rev. 21:2-22:5), suggesting the old Jerusalem.
Both identifications are possible, but neither fits the Catholic Church. Indeed, according to the standard anti-Catholic theory, the Catholic Church did not exist in the first century and thus could not persecute the apostles, as the whore did (Rev. 18:20).
More fundamentally, Revelation was meant to be understood by the original audience as describing what would happen soon (Rev. 1:1). The audience would have no way of understanding the whore as a fu- ture Church rather than one of the persecuting cities of their own day."

The bible discusses the Catholic Church indeed but in good light your interpretation of said scripture is yours and yours alone, thanks be to god for this one church that Christ instituted on St Peter. Mr Akin is in my discernment a good guy sound in Christian knowledge, philosophy and v knowledgeable,of many subjects. Either I’m right or you are wrong it’s a question of discernment but before I think badly of anyone I would be careful not to call what is good as bad as scripture warns. Take care and god bless. @toneyh1 Jesus makes a distinction between Peter and the rock he will build hmhis church on. He makes Peter aware, even though your name is rock, I want to be clear that what I will build my church on the rock that is your declaration that I am God.

@frenchtoast2319 Your interpretation of Matt 16:18 is nonsensical and therefore cannot possibly be guided by the Holy Spirit
