The part where the founders mention that nowadays many media companies are trying to run a business with just 1 revenue stream which entirely dependent on ads whereas if you look at even the traditional media, they always had some stability through the service they offered. This is something that many founders just don't think about before they have already spent a couple of years in the industry and are hustling to building something sustainable.

I’m young and refinery29 is one of my biggest business goals. I don’t think they answered the questions in a way that is useful to people other than saying what it was like back in 2004/5. For example the question of whether people should start with Wordpress and the writing of the actual content. They dodged that question which was quite disappointing because that’s what makes it difficult for other companies to start
