We did the Wildlife Ranger Challenge

Humbled, hot and with a heart full of gratitude: this pretty much sums up how we felt this past Saturday. The 16th was the now annual Wildlife Ranger Challenge and we were invited to take part in the 21km run alongside the rangers and staff of Matusadona National Park. All across the country, all across the continent, teams of rangers and their supporters set out on a 21km course with 22kgs on their backs. Respect. The run #ForWildifeRangers exemplifies the nature of a rangers’ job: mentally and physically arduous work in remote, often harsh conditions requiring grit, integrity and determination to complete. We take our hats off to the men and women of Africa’s protected areas who work day in, day out in the most challenging of conditions.
