I would add clay around the shelter at least 3 feet up,it would keep more of the heat inside also help to keep our a lot of the rain.

This forest where I've camped is the Hyrcani forest(the biggest forest in the north of my country). & there are many animals around, & because I use the microphone to record the natural sound of nature, the sound of everything is clear even if it's far away!
