Saturday is my marinate day then work, then Sunday all day is smoking everything. It's a lot of work, patience, and love. Totally worth it I've never been to that level, but my wife keeps making me do it, so guess I'm doing something right
I live 15 mins from Goldees. Ive been all over Texas for BBQ. Terry Blacks, Franklin, SaltLick, Muellers, Hutchins, Pecan Lodge.... All REALLLYYY good but Goldees is absolutely PERFECT!!
We slow smoked a Turkey for 11 hours, mesquite chips, and beer in the smoke pan. Was the most tender Turkey I've ever ate. Their butter description on a good smoked turkey is so true.
T.C.'s Ponderosa in Dickens, TX has maybe not the world's best bbq... But for a bbq joint in a teeny tiny town of 209 people, it is very good! It has even made Texas Monthly's top 50 list before.
Texas Turkey is like a different galaxy when compared to UK Turkey. It's practically a different animal. You might have noticed all the Reactors who say I'm not a big fan of Turkey Then they try Texas Turkey and they crave it. It's smoked, juicy, and flavorful.
I think the ever endearing quality of America is how we love fusion. Take your food culture and mesh it with ours. We will eat that up...literally. it is the best thing to me. To see so many cultures with their food being infused and also I truly love them beside the traditional versions. It makes us beautiful ❤

This place is called Goldees BBQ it's slightly better than Terry Black's BBQ in Austin Texas
I have been to Goldies before. Definitely my favorite local BBQ place to go. It's genuinely the best there is. The queue tells you everything you need to know (No, Terry Black's doesn't have a queue).
I was just in Texas back in May. I haven't been to Black's but I went to a couple very crowded BBQ places and these guys are not overstating how good it all is. The turkey is nothing like the Turkey you've had. It's moist and just goes down so easy. Every meat served there is the result of a long process of attempts to reach perfection. Everything matters....especially the grade of beef they use. It truly is mouthwatering and delicious! It ain't cheap for a plate like they had. Good food is good food, though. Great reaction!
Texas has tons of excellent bbq places. Here are A few of my favorites in Central Texas: Miller's- Belton, TX Schoepfs-Belton, TX Johnny's steaks are amazing in Salado, TX Saltlick, Driftwood, TX Franklin's BBQ, Austin Blacks BBQ & Terry Blacks in Lockhart (family feud). Louis Miller Bbq Taylor, TX
Mr. H and Friends have been to Goldee's and Franklin's. They were actually just here again in the US and did some collaboration videos that you should check out on their channel.
@@snowflakehunter I just nw of downtown Fort Worth and haven’t tried it yet. Maybe next weekend. But Blacks has been the best brisket I’ve had to this point
@@jaimeredrayo I live in Fort Worth as well. I've been to Goldee's on a handful of occasions and it is most definitely better than Black's. I would go there more often, but getting in the restaurant can be very difficult at times.
there are three things to work on when cooking brisket... 1. cut off enough fat to let it cook well, but not so much that you take away from the moisture and flavor. 2. let it cook long enough at the right temperature so that it's tender enough that when you bite into it, it has the resistance of a slice of soft cake. 3. once you have both of those right, you just need to find the right combinations of spices to rub onto the meat before cooking to make a wonderful tasting bark.... once you have all three of these done right, you'll have the best brisket around...
There aren't lines before opening for Terry Blacks, though during lunch and dinner rush there would be a line of sorts (normal line anywhere cafeteria style like that). Only the best places have such lines, because they run out of meat quick. Usually all close by 1pm if not earlier. Terry Blacks is open until 10a-10pm. They are a good volume BBQ place that does authentic central texas BBQ. They are not the best by any stretch but still really good for being a mass market place.
@@nickjreacts Yeah, Terry Blacks is accessible. There are multiple to choose from. So the Kiwi's or Brits visit the bigger cities (Dallas, Austin) and go to Terry's because you can show up at 4pm and eat in 10 minutes. It is good, but it is corporate. The best places are one offs. Like Goldees, here. There is one location. You have to plan around getting there before they run out of the cuts you want to eat... and if you want a super platter, you best be prepared to wait in line for a while. If you visit I recommend just going to Terry Blacks. It is 95-98% as good and won't take your whole day to achieve.
You've got Goldee's, Black's Original, Snow's, Franklin's..they are always in the running for "best". Terry's is, as the others have said "accessible", but very good to "get you in the door" on what the food is like. The other places are open 3 days and week and start queuing at like 7am-8am for an 11am open and then sell until sold, which usually happens far to quick, 1'ish. Just because you get in, doesn't mean they will have what you want, they will sell out of the most bought first. People show up at 11:30 sit in line for 3 hours and get depressed cause they came out and said.."go home". You gotta get in line early, good thing is, the better place have free beer coolers and drinks while you wait.
Sorry to be late to the comments. Handling some trolls. I live about 15 minutes from Goldee's but I have never been. Here is the thing about Texas BBQ & probably others as well. I can go to the top rated artisan BBQ & spend $50 per pound for brisket or go to a few more place almost as good & spend $15 a pound. If I want the really good stuff I can make my own but I have gotten old to stand out in the heat. You know, smoked meat preserves well if you ever want any shipped to you.
I really miss enjoying an amazing pork belly. When pork belly is done amazing and properly, the meat melts in your mouth and the seasonings mixed into the fat. It's so amazing that it's like Greek myth's description of ambrosia. I love it.
"Sold Out", . . . I feel I should mention this, . . . Good BBQ is always sold out days in advance. You need to call ahead and make reservations for your food. Not for a table, you need to place your order days in advance. It takes days to prep and smoke BBQ. If there are going to be 500 servings of Brisket on Thurday, that is all there is. So, . . . When visiting the USA and wanting to try some great food, . . . call before you even finalize your trips plans to find out how far in advance you need for reservations, or orders.
I live in Austin Texas and Franklins has the longest que line but they aren't even ranked the best in town. Personally I always suggest #2 in the state which is here in a suburb of Austin called Cedar Park and that is Interstellar BBQ. Leroy & Lewis is the next place I'd suggest again higher than Terry Black's. The only reason you know Terry Black's is because TH-camrs keep showing it. Stiles Switch, Brotherton's are also places I'd recommend.
Pls react to day in the life of the #1 bbq in Texas by Alvin Zhou. It goes through how goldee’s make their food. A lot of work and process goes through it.
There is no #1 BBQ. Every BBQ place has its own special way of cooking, its own spices and sauces. People travel all over the south trying the best local places and arguing about which is best. And the best BBQ I ever had was cooked by a guy who didn't have a restaurant. He only cooked for family and friends and never for more than 100 people.
you know these guys are obsessed with BBQ because its the only food on their channel theyve had like 5+ times. clearly they already know what top teir BBQ is all about and it doesnt even make sense content wise to keep making videos on this one specific cuisine. they just want to keep eating it lol.
Goldee's is definitely better than Terry Blacks, but Terry Blacks has better hype. But ya can't TASTE hype ;) NOT saying TB's isn't GOOD, obviously, it IS, but is it THE best? Nop, no it's not... maybe they'll wise up tho, dunno. Might be one day! You also MIGHT wanna TRY the original Blacks BBQ (the ONLY TX BBQ place I've ever tasted - IN TX, anyway.) I smoke brisket and ribs every couple of months. I cook my brisket with the "goldies" method and I have had excellent results.
Check out the Salt Lick and Franklin's BBQ.
Goldee's is great. Franklin's and Hutchins are yummy as well.
Mike Chen or his second channel Strictly Dumpling has reviewed Goldees and the British channel Mr H and Family went to Texas and tried Goldees.

The sausage I believe has cheese and jalapenos in it, a lot of Texas bbq places do it and it's so gd good.
Ahhh jalapeños as well! That sounds so good!
There is great Bbq here in N.E. Arkansas...we do pork more than anything, and it's done in the Memphis dry rub style.....

I used to live in Texas. I can tell what that brisket tastes like just by looking at it ☹️
Trust me every good sausage need soom fried onions & meat chili. Maybe some mustard
Turkey are pretty big. There's some wild ones that live in my neighborhood. They are not aggressive, but I also give them room.
