    Over half million Chinese students study abroad every year. Some students are even less then 18 year old. Yet Chinese kids are brave to embrace culture shock, get out of their comfort zone, and learn local language and culture. And some stay abroad for work to further learn about the business there. Many come back and bring back knowledge, which helps Chinese business to expand internationally..Chinese are truly believe in globalization and more open to different cultures

    I think one thing most people don't pay attention when they come to China is learning mandarin. Language shapes the way you think and you will never start understanding before you speak the language. Sadly the majority of foreigners in China don't speak mandarin at all, but after 1983 English is a required course in China. That tells you something.

    In China, there are more than just beaches, mountains, snow mountains, deserts, wetlands, swamps, rain forests, grasslands and so on. You can almost imagine that there are thousands of historical relics of ancient buildings, ancient cities, emperors and tombs, many walls of the Great Wall of Nanjing, which have experienced World War II, and there are too many places to play.

  • @toalopez
    @toalopez 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just want to clarify one thing, and it is that using a VPN actually protects you from hackers in public, because, that is not your real IP address, you are hiding behind your real IP Address. Just make sure you have all your updates if you are using Windows 10, and that the browser is 128-bit encryption or higher, I recommend Google Chrome, if a hacker attempts to use your IP Address, it is not your real Ip Address it is another IP address from another server sitting in another place in the world. Not Actually where you are actually connected. It is like making your self-invisible. Also, make sure that your remote access in control panel is disabled, so nobody can remotely log into your computer and use it and use an anti-virus with a firewall to protect your laptop. But don't use your cell phone to do banking, it is less secure in a public WIFI.

      Cindy Sobalvarro To understand China, you need to stay in China for more than five years. But I can assure you that from the moment you arrive in China, you will open your eyes wide.

    There is a lot of useful information in this video! I just want to comment that Western (aka USA) culture focused more on individualism and Eastern (aka Asian countries) culture focuses more on the community. Having experience both, I would probably find it easier to adjust to life in China, even though I was born in Canada.

    I've been in Guangzhou for 7 months now but I havn't gotten to explore much. I dont have many resources and a shitty phone with almost no space for the apps I need here, which has been frustrating. I can make my way around the city on the metro pretty well if I know which stop to get off at and usually go to places I"ve been before. I've found a few places where I feel comfortable and I feel happy with that. I am saving for other priorities but I do wish I could see more of China, I feel very bound by my lack of linguistic skills and not having wechat pay (it won't work for some reason, it errors), so trying to go to other cities is basically impossible. It's my first time to leave the US and I came here for a year contract. I am really curious to see how I'll feel at the year's end. It looks like you've gotten to do some really amazing things and are very savvy about traveling and meeting people, if I extend my contract here I hope I can learn these skills, or pick them up as I would like to travel to Egypt next and other places after that if I can afford to...

    Usually, for purchasing purposes, it's not just Wechat all the time. people usually use either Wechat or Alipay. Alipay is used more often in Southen China and you use it when you pay at the store, restaurant, shopping, online shopping, Taobao, small business investment, stock etc.
