Have you considered rotating drill motor CCW and resting battery pack on top of drill bed clamping might almost be single handed?

Thanks for the suggestion @orb' haven't even thought of that, however, jst thinking (before actual trying), resting "on the table" might interfere with the fence and/or the various attachments I have for it... still will consider before customising.
