I want to be like you when I get older with horses! I am 16 now but I love to watch your trail rides I wish I could go but I live all the way in America!
I tell you every year when this trip comes around my heart gets filled with joy. This is the third trip that I have been able to be present with you on. I feel so blessed to have that happen. This is something that I would just never be able to do. And something that I would’ve loved dearly to have done. But the Lord has other plans for me and they are good also. So I just get to watch you do it and it makes me extremely happy. God bless all of you!!!
Thank you, it is a pleasure to share my experiences from my trip with you all! The motivation to make a film for you to watch makes me stop more often and make an effort to look at things more carefully.
I love watching your annual hikes Sandra - we really should have more bridle ways around the country to do this. Thanks so much for posting and I hope you got to recharge a little.
It was a very restorative ride, thanks. It is a lot of hard work to make these official bridle ways happen, I imagine. If the state saw the potential and paid someone to take this on as a project....hats off to the lady who made the Beara Vridle Way happen, lots and lots of hard work!
I think a lot of us would look at the rain and decide to postpone the trip, but thanks for persevering. I think you were well rewarded. What a beautiful country. Your horses really are multi talented.
If you start postponing things like this because of rain they never happen around here...there are always rain clouds nearby, so the best approach is to just push through to the other side where the sun shiens again!
What a beautiful countryside. Ireland through your videos is such a calm and peaceful place. I'm rather sorry my ancestors left there. My Dempsey forebear left Ireland in the early 1700s.
There's still Dempseys around nowadays, your distant relatives! It must have been a difficult place back then, can't blame them for leaving in some ways.
Well done Sandra. You were not phased at all by the rainy weather. Great to see what another part of Ireland looks like. Cork and Kerry are very beautiful.
Congratulations for your channel from Madrid... Your youtube channel make me live another interesting life quite different than mine.. It's a pleasure to see your videos... Quite interesting things you live!!! ;-)
I just LOVE how you talk to your babies just like little children...... I do the same thing 💕🐾🐴 Have watched all of your videos and just love them all !! Keep up the fantastic work ! Love from California, U.S.A 💕🐾🐴
That was a special moment, I led the horses for a while and looked back at them and discovered the rainbow just over their heads!!! Yes, I tend to talk a lot to them...
Trudi is such a good dog for running along on the leash, but she enjoys it most when she can roam, so sometimes she puts her sad face on to let me know!
Thank you so much, this reminds me of my childhood. I loved sleeping listening to the rain or snow outside while cuddled up in my warm blankets.Ahhhhhh
Another beautiful trail ride. I was mesmerized by watching Flora's footfalls on the sand. And Trudy was such a trooper! Lots of work for you packing and unpacking and camerawork as well. Thank you for this.
Thank you - yes the balance is a bit off, most people think it's all about cantering around the place with the sun shining into your face, but a lot of the time is spent folding and zipping and velcroeing and weighing...but that's part of it, and I love it all!
If you say so. Im not going in discussion over something this stupid. I will tell my horse he is not a breed but a bastard (something they originally were) and his papers are false 😉 He will be no different for me.
Wonderful video Sandra! You guys do such a wonderful job with these - you can almost feel the rain and wind in this video! I used to take my son and his scout friends on trips like this. One can only learn what comfort is by living with discomfort for a bit. The rain is a good teacher for sure. As always, your videos are a nice break. Thanks so much!
Thank you. And once you realise that the rain is only water and wont eat you up, you feel liberated! The trick is to relax into the sensation of trickeling water...
this was great. you traced some of the trip i took on foot about 2 years ago, starting at Castletownbere and up over to Allihies around and up to Kenmare then over the mountains again to Glengariff. Dursey and Bere Island were a great treat and the hike from Allihies to Eyeries was a real slog since I did not use that nice road all the way. Thank you for bringing me back on this journey
Oh, that sound slike a great adventure! In a way, it's even better on foot, as you have more options and you can really go off-road on the Beara Way - unfortunately, there are too many fences in the way to go along that walkway on horseback :(
Greetings from Georgia, USA! Your shared experience was very enjoyable! Thank you for sharing it along with your perspectives. What a joy to do a little extended travel in such a lovely area with such wonderful travel companions. Beautiful.
What a wonderful experience for you to remember - even the rain. :) You are an adventurous, and very brave lady! Everyone behaved and didn't experience any booboos this time! :) lovely!
Excellent local knowledge of the past past and present. A joy to watch and re-watch. Thanks for taking us along on your adventure via your very competent documentary.
Thank you. I always like to learn about the places I go, I had to restrain myself to not share it all in the video, you would have sat there for a couple of hours!
That was amazing! My friends and I rode to the tip of the Peninsula we live on to raise money for the handicapped riding program. It took us a week and we camped out every night. It was awesome and I am so glad for the memories. Thanks for taking us along!
Thank you for sharing your travels with us. I very much admire your independence and self-sufficiency traveling alone in the company of your pets. I still get lost walking in New York City and to think I work there😂. Thank you again for tagging us along the beautiful and unspoiled terrains.💝
Fantastic video thanks Sandra! Horses & dog, plus your story telling gave me plenty to think about! Very informative for riders wanting more off road riding in Ireland - what a great way to show the HOW! West Cork Bridle way - what magnificent achievement to have this , many more needed, but great ideas there, and incredible riding passes and views from the saddle - thanks again for showing this.
Thank you so much for sharing your travel adventure with us! I imagine this is all quite a lot of work, and the rain doesn't make it any better, but I am so, so glad that you share your adventure with us. You travel through some beautiful countryside! Thank you!
What a wonderful video. I had the occasion many years ago now to look after a pair of wagon horses Meg and Matey. Meg was a smallish Percheron and Matey was a pretty standard size Clydesdale. They were the most gentle creatures one could ever hope to meet and an absolute joy to be with. My friend who owned the horses bought a Gypsy wagon and we did some short trips around where we lived and he later travelled over 1000 ks with them. For the trips I went on we completely clogged up the back roads we were on with people stopping for pics and to say hello. How I miss those horses and their company. It didn't matter how deeply I kept a carrot in a pocket because they would snuffle it out. Beautiful video and the scenery wasn't bad either.
Yours sounds like a fantastic adventure, well done! It would be hard to do this around here - very hilly, and even on the back roads, you can meet huge tractors or mad delivery drivers unfortunately.
You are SO brave!!! This was a really cool video! You did amazing!!! Trudy looks great! As do Flora and Henry. All my love and best wishes to you all always!!! Henry's mustache... 😍🥰 What a lovely, lovely travel blog. Thank you so much for letting us join you. I adore the fact, that the four of you traveled through the rain, anyway. My horse lived on an equestrian farm, where way too many people didn't even allow their expensive sport horses to be out on the pasture as soon as there was the slightest bit of rain, and mine had to be out alone.
Just to imagine the 2 hour walk over the mountains to the mines in all weathers with no wellies or raincoat, work all day underground, and then back home to a clammy cottage...makes me shiver and appreciate my life even more!
