Hello, I'm trying to make a game in psx style some sort of yours. Glad to see that im not alone. Yesterday i learned how to bake uv into diffuse :). Today i've made a tree, bushes and sprites of a cattail. planning to make a puzzle game with mechanics like in a portal, but totally in different setting. Firstly I was inspired by the "voices of the void". wishing you luck and progress in your project. Waiting for the next video!
Hi there and thank you! That is great to hear, always nice to hear from others making these retro inspired games! It sounds like you are progressing pretty fast in that case and it’s great to have a solid idea of what you want to do 😄 Best of luck to you on your project as well!
Currently the barebones loop that I plan out the wings are that you enter the area, explore and investigate what is open to the player, get pointed to a few points of interest, some form of issue/puzzle solving that unlocks a hostile challenge in the wing and then continue with POIs until piecing together where to go or what to do to unlock the next area. All in all the idea is to create a smaller open area for exploration and the player needs to kind of figure out where to go and how to do that to unlock the next area and find out what has happened :)

In modeling mode, you have something called Grid, maybe work for it
Thanks for the tip! Do you mean modeling mode in unreal then? I use grid snapping when working in unreal if that is the thing you mean? 🙂
What's your core loop?
