I run two of these with 1 DDA in my list. I think you missed the key reason I run them. True line of sight and therefore ignoring obscuring rules. With the new piece of terrain and the centre staging pieces it really keeps your opponent honest. Another reason for running 2 is I have good odds of hitting at least one six a turn increasing the average output nicely
Strats usually go with "select a unit that has not been selected to shot this turn" so you have to use the strategem first, only after that you can target the enemy unit with the weapon. I might actually get one of those just for the looks. Allready got an admech flappy bird so might aswell add the croissant of death.
Does the “ATAVISTIC INSTIGATION” ability grant 5+ crit hits for other friendly necron units other than itself that target that same unit? If so i feel like this is why it’s so many points for that utility.
Aircraft can see over terrain usiung True line of sight. This means they are vulnerable but it means that enemy units staging where they feel safe can still be hit. Not to be sniufffed at.
Nailed every talking point as it has been said for the last 3 years. It's just not worth it. It's a one-trick pony. And without trying to justify why I use it, every person I play sees the two of them sitting off the table side and wondering when their Doom will fall. 230/460 60 is absolutely brutal. I will gladly put my monolith into a play rather than them in every detachment but I actually have to give myself pause when looking at the hypercrypt. Appreciate your time guys. Love watching every one of them. Cheers -Alpharious-
@WorHammer40k I just opened a drawer on my entertainment stand and found a boxed Hexmark and doomstalker... 😢 On to the stack of shame they go. You guys are a great time. Cheers -Alpharious-
Enslaved Artifice needs to be selected before you select the Doom Scythe to shoot whilst the decision your opponent needs to make comes after they’ve been selected as a target so you couldn’t get both unless the opponent actively chooses to let you.
It's too expensive. Maybe at 190, I'd think about it. 165-175 it becomes interesting. I really hope they just redo how aircraft interact with the game..... or they just remove the option I guess. The way they are now, they're basically not part of the game anyways.
Only thing I don't think you touched on is the flier LoS basically like old titanic so it can shoot at basically anything on the table. even things that are behind ruins in weird places. I think both our fliers need the Hover Keyword. And maybe a little off on the points for the doomscythe but thats about it.
I run 3 with the silent king. Spider ,dda deceiver, and some flayed ones. 3-0 at 3 rtts, 5-1 and 4-1 at two gts. It tables players. And Melee armies cry.
@WorHammer40k I run it Hypercrypt. The idea with it is you use the Flayed ones to screen out the the middle from infiltrates. Maybe bluff a shooting lane with the dda. Aggressively deploy the deciver. Redeploy the flayed ones to a safe passion if needed. Keep the spider in range of silent king and dda. Turns 1 and 2 is where you kill anything that can hurt the planes. Then 3,4,5 you kill anything on an objective while the small units score secondary. The only thing that does more damage than that heavy death ray was the pronunciation of croissant. It does seem like a very swingy weapon though, sustained hits D3 and damage D6+1? I rolled some dice and it's all over the place.
see that's what I thought, I have a Scarab swarm which also has zero OC and the friends also learning the game said they understood it as can take objectives just can't hold objective if another unit is on it. that's a little bit frustrating. but was there an enhancement or ability that gave +1 to OC to all necrons on the board?
