other people have explained the member's stance on religion (which seems pretty right) and it originally made it hard for me to connect with save me. since then i've seen other non-religious people talk about it more as being a cry for help in general, like the person is willing to do absolutely anything to stop the pain rather than calling out to actual god even if it's capitalised. THAT made me bawl my eyes out and i've held it close to my heart ever since. they really are incredible artists
Honestly I think it is a situation where it can mean either way depending on the person. I personally, being religious, will view it as a cry to God, simply because that makes sense to me. But in no way does that mean everyone has to view it that way, nor will I care at all if someone says its just a general cry for help. We all feel music in our own ways, and feel the lyrics, however we choose to. Music is a universal language, we all know the general idea which is someone in pain, wanting to be saved. I think it's beautifully heartbreaking.
THISSS i originally didn't like it much at the start because of the religious lyrics but the more i thought about it as like a "last resort", the more i connected to it because that is something i have definitely gone through more than once. we love you xdinary heroes 💔💔💔
